Customer service was very poor. The owner (I’m assuming he was the owner) was quite rude and abrupt. Was told there was no smoked sausage at “this time of night” (it was only around 4:45pm) so we had to have sausage in batter. The food was tasteless, oven chips not cooked correctly still chewy, the sausage batter was crispy but also very very oily along with the sausage which was pale white and just awful. For claiming it has an “award winning” status is quite false, as it was very disappointing. Within 5 minutes of eating, I couldn’t keep it down, I put the rest in the bin and now have a dodgy tummy.I don’t recommend this “plaice” unfortunately…

Really enjoyed my small fish supper. The owner that served us was friendly and kept busy. Would recommend.

Superb fish and chip shop. Called in this evening as the gluten free option caught our eye the other day. Being a coeliac fish and chip options are limited so really glad these are gluten free aware. My gluten free fish and chips with mushy peas was excellent. Filling and reasonably priced too. My partner's 'normal' fish and chips were equally delicious. Very friendly staff and quick service. The only downside is we're here on holiday so can't enjoy this every week. Will definitely use again when we're back here in the future. Excellent.

Absolutely top notch chippie with everything cooked fresh to order without it dripping in grease. Great selection of gluten free food cooked to order with the onion rings and fritters worth a special mention for being so tasty !!

Absolutely disgusting has to be the worst tasting chips I have ever had and the fish was inedible yet claims to be award winning if your hungry do not go there

Great fish and chips as always, best in the area with excellent curry sauce. Always visit when in the area and will continue to do so!

Excellent gluten free fish supper, with no extra wait. Although there was a queue, it was dealt with efficiently. And gluten free onion rings too! I've had better chips, but the rest was tops.

Live in Edinburgh and hands down better than any Chippy there. Had a Fish Supper and Single Sausage. Batter beautifully crisp but also moist, fish and sausage extremely fresh and of ‘melt in your mouth’ quality, chips also crispy and chunky and actually taste like potatoes and what appears to be a community spirited owner, by the amount of money they have obviously raised for local charity (according to publicised posters in the shop). Well done, I’d be back but it’s a frick of a trek from Edinburgh for Fish and Chips.

Had the best fish suppers in a long time. The fish was cooked beautifully and the batter so light and tasty - cannot recommend it enough. Also had single haggis which again would thoroughly recommend. Enjoy!!
