Pub food done really well indeed. Buffalo wings mouth-wateringly good, authentic marinade and with a proper blue cheese dressing. Steak pie with tender meat and rich gravy. Real chips were perfection. Blackened salmon was creatively accompanied with a zingy mango and red onion salsa. Mash seasoned nicely. Deliciously gooey ginger pudding was spot on. Really excellent staff made us feel welcome and were great with our four year old, making her feel very special.

Warm welcoming atmosphere, excellent menu at very reasonable prices. Eclectic decor, staff were friendly and attentive. Given 4 stars because I didn’t eat from the menu, but the food I saw and smelt being delivered to tables was mouthwateringly tempting….

We visited the Tavern for a birthday lunch, accompanied with 2 dogs who were warmly welcomed. Good choice of dishes, the lovely girl who served us gave good advice and service. There is wood burner, good ambiance and we really enjoyed our visit and will be back.
