A really lovely hotel. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms have all you need and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with something for everyone. Also the bar is well stocked.

Nice hotel. Staff were pleasant and happy to help. A little bit dated in places. Pool area still in decent condition amd they have everything you need. Food was amazing from the restaurant. Could do with a bar service for the outdoor seating as had to go up a floor to get drinks. Everything foes need a makeover though but beautiful setting and beautiful views.

It's the little things that let it down. The hotel is a beautiful old school and quirky. The staff are great and good food.However. The rooms have wee issues that would take a handy person 10 minutes to sort out such as missing light bulbs, damaged bathroom fittings, no remote control for the TV, replenishing the room tea and coffee each morning. Nothing to get upset about but certainly costing a few stars in a review.

My room rate was equivalent to the travel lodge. I didn’t expect much but it was great. The rooms were clean, the staff were super friendly and helpful and even though I arrived later in the evening I could park easily. The bar on the top floor is nice and feels very welcoming. The breakfast staff we friendly, and actually had a smile of their faces. It was a really pleasant stay. Only 4 stars as the milk in the plastic pots had curdled.

We stayed for two nights at the end of a long trip through Scotland. The location was great, close to the castle (though it's a good steep walk up!) and close to restaurants and shopping. The room was comfortable, though a little shabby. I wish the hotel had better soundproofing as we heard a lot of clomping footsteps and slamming fire doors at an early hour. We did not try any of the spa/leisure center stuff. Breakfast was typical European hotel buffet.

Great place. I was only stopping over for a night but would definitely come back for longer. I was able to make use of the gym after my long drive! Rooms are well kitted out, breakfast was great, bedding comfortable and slippers and dressing gown are a nice touch. My only complaint would be the restaurant which seems to be permanently full with half board, there are still dining options in the bar or in room, but it would be nice to be able to sit down at the restaurant.

The salon services were amazing and the salon staff were lovely.Room was clean however pretty basic and dated for a 5 star hotel. However I belive we were in a cheaper room due to it being a gift voucher we had used. So other rooms etc may be a lot better.

Great stay. Enjoyed everything except the seriously noisy cleaning staff! Banging doors constantly is not necessary. However they do a wonderful job and are lovely.Pool area fabulous.Bar staff were so friendly.Reception staff were so friendly and helpful.Overall a wonderful stay would definitely stay again

Room was lovely. Bathroom could have been doing with updating though. Bit disappointed in it as we had booked a deluxe room. Wood was peeling, toilet seat was broken and door was peeling at bottom. Staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have dinner as it was fully booked due to limited numbers as kitchen was being upgraded. Also had to leave in morning before breakfast as we had a family emergency. Spa was lovely. Enjoyed our swim, sauna and steam room. Jacuzzi wasn't working which was a shame. Staff in there were hard worked. Disgusted that people think it's acceptable to leave robes and towels lying for staff to clean up! Not difficult to put them in the basket for washing.Great location but you need to stop for a drink on the way up the hill :)Look forward to visiting again and getting to try the breakfast

Staff were really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was very comfortable but the bathrooms are in need of a wee refresh. Breakfast was great and the pool was lovely. Really enjoyed the facilities and will definitely be back.
