Excellent choice of food, friendly staff. Meal was very good, quiet at 13.30 but got busy later.

Just had our son's and new daughter in law's wedding reception and accommodation for some of our guests here. Purfect in every way. A credit to Scotlands hospitality sector. Excellent food, service, staff and atmosphere. Great value too. Highly recommended 👌

Despite coliander is not my favourite on gyros, dishes were very well crafted, high quality raw materials, and very very delicious desserts. Extremely kind, smiley and helpful staff.

Excellent. My aunt and husband shared a sea food platter and it defeated them. They both said that to eat the platter you mustn't have a starter. Only niggle they both had was they felt that to do the lobster justice they needed the correct implements to get all the meat out. The remaining food was placed into a doggie bag for them to eat the next day so no wastage. Staff were friendly and polite. They all worked well as a team. As I am allergic to bottom feeders I opted for the beefburger which was superb. Plenty of space indoors and out. Children made welcome. Certainly worth a visit.

Had a meal in the 1601 bar at the weekend. Pretty disappointing. Steak pie was alright-ish, but the miniscule amount of veg and the totally overdone 3 tiny potatoes were a bit of a joke. Staff were nice enough, and it's a good environment. Pity the food was poorer than what you can pick up from M&S for a third of the price.

Lovely hotel and amazing staff. Location is incredibly with surrounding mountains and the food there is excellent! Was made to feel at home! Highly recommended!

I recently visited with a golfing party who were visiting from Liverpool and service was first class. Food was quality and there was a good selection of beer. Everyone left happy and commented on how much they enjoyed the food, drink and service

It wasn't the Kirkhouse Inn we visited but 'The Wee Kirk'. It's part of the same business and allows the owners to bring in some money while lock down is still with us.The Wee Kirk shop front is in the Kirkhouse car park and looks pretty impressive. When you order the food they give you a beeper type device that lets you know when your order is ready. Great idea as you can sit in your car while your food is being prepared! The important thing is the food, and it is very good. You will pay a little more than the local chippie but this is restaurant quality fish and chips. I got the haddock and chips and it was great. There were two large thick chunks of moist white fish and the portion size was impressive and didn't leave me wanting more. The lemon wedge and tartar sauce were a nice addition. My wife had the mixed fish selection with chips. The fish was haddock, salmon, cod, smoked haddock and monk fish (?). The quality of the fish was fantastic.Definitely worth a revisit.
