The Clachan Inn in Stirling

Absolute gem. We are both vegan, they made us a full vegan menu!!!! Often when we go somewhere, they will just throw something together that doesn’t taste very good or doesn’t have macronutrients (protein etc) in mind. This place blew our expectations out of the water. They set the standard for versatility!!!! We had garlic tofu for starter, tender stem broccoli as a starter, then the lentil and mushroom ragu for main with polenta and then coconut rice pudding for desert. It was the BEST tasting 3 course meal we’ve had out in a long time. Would rate it a 10 overall, delicious, nutritious and felt great after eating it. Can’t wait to come back here if we’re passing through!

Great locals pub with fantastic food! I had the cod with squid ink risotto. Superbly presented and absolutely delicious! My wife had the duck confit and she enjoyed that too. For dessert we shared the rice pudding which was superb. Lovely staff and great service. We are going back!!

Just left after lunch today. What an amazing find. Lunch was out of this world. We had four different starters and each one was amazing. Top quality food. Spoke to the owners (chef) and front of house who told me they’ve been there 8 years. The jus sauces and gravy’s wow! I can’t praise it highly enough. We were meeting friends half way but I’ll be travelling back soon just for the food. I’m from Prestwick where they’re are plenty of good eateries but this place was way above.

Super place, very Scottish. Great food and dog friendly! Highly recommend and I drive from Ayrshire to eat here it’s that good!!

Absolutely the best meal we have eaten in Scotland since arriving two years ago. Our meals, without exception, were outstanding, a sensory treat second to none. The staff were attentive, and friendly. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Can't recommend The Clachan Inn enough if you live in Dumfries and Galloway. Well done to the Clachan team!

Delicious meal and really great, friendly, service. Best place to go in D&G, par none.Our table had haggis scotch eggs, squid, and scallops with duck to start, and then cod and gourmet burgers for mains. The rice pudding with sticky toffee ice cream was the best I'd ever tasted. Absolutely delicious.Staff all very friendly, accommodating and helpful.

Third time here never fails to deliver. Food quality and variety excellent... easily worth the 90 min round trip. Nice relaxed vibe friendly attentive staff. Oh and a good selection of beer..

We stayed near by and visited for lunch. The food was amazing, the best beef pie and chocolate dessert that I have ever had. It was a friendly atmosphere and dog friendly in the bar too. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back one day. Recommend you book a table in advance as you don't want to miss out!

Simply superb! I'd read the reviews and expected above average pub fare but were we blown away! The ambience was instantly relaxed and casual but the air smelled divine, clearly an establishment able to cater for the regular ale drinker and the visiting diner.As we were escorted to our table we were taken past the specials board, constantly updated as dishes became no longer available. With such an impressive listing on the specials board I presumed the actual menu would be standard, however it was sophisticated and had several intriguing dishes. Everything we ordered was beyond expectations, the quality of the drinks and cocktails also exceeded our expectations. All around, an impressive, unforgettable experience!
