The Falls of Dochart Inn in Stirling

Well worth staying here, good atmosphere, staff nice and helpful, the falls are just opposite the Inn. Clean, plenty free parking at side it rear of Inn. Would recommend the Inn. Food is good. Rooms a wee bit small but having did that, you only really chose it for shower & sleeping.

Beautiful location and very good food, the lager was amazing (craft lager) and the food was really nice, all fresh. From the restaurant you can see the falls of dochart which is a treat.

After an enjoyable day on the hills myself and two others experienced extremely poor customer service in the restaurant. Wrongly served a whole soup and whole sandwich main when the request was for soup and a sandwich 'deal'. When queried the increase in price the member of staff and manager told us it was our responsibility to read the menu correctly.Will not be back... and would advise anyone to steer clear of this to avoid disappointment and lack of respect for paying customers.

Massive and tasty scones. Lovely ice cream too and great wee outdoor space for relaxing and listening to the roar of the river.

Very friendly and warm welcome ,a building full of character with a huge open fire. The food here is excellent ,we enjoyed it so much we went back again the following night. Excellent locally sourced produce. If you want a taste of Scotland you should definitely give this place a try. It's also located opposite the falls so the location and views are also excellent.

Myself & my partner went in for some lunch - we had the Scottish Tapas & a couple of local beers.We really enjoyed it all! Would definitely go back. Staff were very polite & friendly. Location is beautiful.Also Dog friendly! 🐶👍

Popped in for a Saturday lunch, the venue is gorgeous, and a small but decent menu which shows off local products. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty, the venison burger was beautifully cooked, and the "Scottish Tapas" was a great way to try some of the produce of the smokehouse on site (the smoked salmon was a little salty, but otherwise stunning).Some downsides though. Their "dog friendly" status leads some customers to let their dogs run wild in the restaurant, when we asked people at the next table to please not let their dog go under our table we received very aggressive abuse back, with the staff showing no interest in either asking people to control their dogs, or to not pick fights with other customers.Also, even with prices that are already quite high, when we asked for our kids portions of ice cream to be 1 scoop instead of 3 (because they wouldn't eat 3), they did give us the single scoops, bit still charged us full price. £4.50 for 1 scoop of ice cream is excessive.So, good food, but pricy and need to work on the details of service & have a think about how they police their dog friendly policy.

A tourist trap; avoid at all cost.The only good thing about this establishment is its location, and it seems like the people who run it believe they can make a success of it based on that alone, without making any effort.We didn’t stay overnight in the hotel, but we used it for food and drinks twice, and had an equally bad experience on both occasions, so there’s definitely a pattern to it.Our first visit was to the Tea Room, for coffee and ice cream. Despite it being early Saturday afternoon, quite a few things were out of stock or running low. It wasn’t busy in the Tea Room, but the lady serving there seemed completely disinterested in the customers.Our second visit was a couple of days later for drinks in the pub. To our great surprise, there was not a single local beer/ale on offer, and the selection of drinks was overall pretty poor. All the waiting staff seemed upset and deeply unhappy to deal with the customers, so we left quickly.After such poor experience, we decided not to give it a third chance. The biggest issue is the staff, who all look like they would rather be literally anywhere else, and who seem to treat the customers like the source of all their life’s misfortunes. Do not be fooled by the picturesque location and the cute appearance of the place; just take your money and your business elsewhere, where it’s appreciated.

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting.Staff were friendly and attentive.The food was delicious but sadly they couldn’t access the smokehouse so the salmon dishes were off the menu.Would recommend this pub. Inside and outside dining. Booking ahead is advised, it’s popular and gets busy.

Went here for lunch on a Tuesday after 2pm (they serve until 3pm); struggled to get a table, waiting staff seemed harangued and a little blunt. Had to queue once to ask about seating and again to order; long queues both times. Two real ales on, one of which didn't taste of much. Venison burger was pleasant but didn't taste particularly of venison! Under the table was very dirty - lots of bits of past meals for our toddler to pick up. Great view of the falls, which we loved.
