The Lake of Menteith Hotel in Stirling

Spectacular location.Good food but not exceptional and lacking a decent vegetarian selection. We were brought a vegan menu with 2 items on it one of which was already on the standard menu.Restaurant was basically empty for our booked lunch but already specials had run out for the day.Service professional but drab and lacking charm.Bar well stocked with impressive vintage single malt collection.Overall a little overpriced.

This is a lovely small hotel in the MOST beautiful setting. I have stayed there a few times. We stopped there for a coffee while in the area. A lovely member of staff said we could sit where we wanted. But I was very disappointed when someone refused to let us sit in the conservatory. To be honest I could see that it was set up for diners but it was empty. And it seemed unlikely to become full. Rules are rules and no sensible discretion allowed for human beings.

Beautiful place on the lake! Old building with warm atmosphere and ghosts! Perfect team and excellent chief! Everything that you need for amazing time there. Highly recommended!

I met my parents here for a birthday lunch on our way to Stronachlachar. I was absolutely blown away by it - stunningly beautiful setting, and delicious food (albeit a little slow to come after we ordered). The cherry on top for me was the EV chargepoints in the car park - it was perfect to be able to leave my car charging while I was visiting and then set off on the next leg of my journey fully charged.

Fantastic staff, lovely room, great location and very tasty food made for a perfect break over Hogmanay. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel - it was perfect and we will certainly return.

We only meant to have a drink, but the bar area was so warm and beautifully decorated, that we stayed for lunch - and thank goodness we did. It was delicious!The staff were a delight...one of them even put her coat on to let me out into the garden to photograph the mist over the lake.I wish you all a very happy Christmas...and well definitely see you again next year.Thank you.

It was wonderful. Beautiful location fantastic hotel, clean warm, food outstanding, although portions a bit too big. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful and very efficient. I lo ed my stay there.

Excellent stay. Will return.We had a fantastic stay. The hotel is very clean. The breakfast very tasty and plenty of choice. We had dinner on the first night and food was great.The location is top. So quite. It's like to be on a private lake.Only thing, no much place to walk around but we didn't ask either so there may be walks. Also very entertaining watching the trout fishermen going out on their boats in the morning.Lovely community church next to the hotel with a lovely Sunday service.We will definitely return.

We came for dinner, family of 4. The staff was welcoming and we could place our order quickly despite the restaurant being full. We ordered starters and mains (well and a desert ;-) and it was absolutely delicious. Fishcakes and Haggis and the Watermelon/Feta salad, and the trout ... outstanding food. Add the beautiful view and there was honestly nothing missing. Super friendly and attentive staff - THANK YOU

Popped in for a midweek lunch. Great views of the 'lake' from the outside seating where we had lunch. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to give us a great experience. The menu is a full one with plenty of choices and the fare is of a high standard. We'll definitely be going back for another lunch and possibly an overnight stay. Plenty of parking available and there are local attractions ie the priory.I'd certainly recommend the Lake of Menteith Hotel.
