Exceptional food. Easily the best fries (chips) I have ever had. They were so flavorful that I am planning this to be my first stop on the next trip to Scotland from the USA.

Amazing food and cosy settings in the heart of the Old Town. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a sit down hot lunch in Stirling. The chilli is amazing and so carefully prepared and thoughtfully presented. There are also other hot dishes including fish and chips, scampi and of course a vegetarian lasagne which I hear is outstanding. Lots of choice and well worth a visit.

A gorgeous place with attentive service and top notch food! It's like you are entering a cozy and beautifully decorated cottage and not a restaurant. We had the scrambled eggs and poached eggs on toast and they were literally the best eggs we’d ever tasted. The service was incredible and friendly - really can’t praise this place enough. This cafe is worth a visit !!

Just excellent!!! Unusual building which looks a bit like a former pub but interior décor is light and airy. Really good, friendly service. Lovely people. Absolutely superb food from an interesting menu.Interesting starters, lovely mains and sandwiches. They do good bottled beers if you want one too. If we were in the area again, we would definitely eat here another time.Desserts and cakes look far too good!! All in all a really, really good meal for four people on a Sunday.

We popped in here for some tea when we got caught in the rain, and we're very glad we did. The food is tasty and the staff is warm and friendly. This shop is well taken care of, and the fireplace makes it feel like a lovely little home.

Food here is always delicious. Fresh and plentiful. You can go in for just coffees/teas and amazing cakes as well. Eclectic decor inside, very relaxed and cosy. Beautiful seated area outside, garden full of colourful plants and shrubs. There is also a small gift shop inside.

Fantastic place, cozy and stylish interior with a fireplace, good coffee, great food, very generous portions. Had the steak sandwich and that was awesome. Good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommend

The Smithy is a beautiful, small coffee-shop just a stone's throw away from the castle and right next door to the oldest pub in Stirling, The Settle Inn. The owners are delightful, the fireplace is warm and cozy, and the food is delicious. (I highly recommend the chocolate cake with some ice cream - amazingly good - but the lunch/dinner menu is also incredible.) It's such a nice, gentle place to stop over for a quick scone or a bigger meal and with wifi, it's perfect for a study break. I cannot recommend the Smithy more!! Best coffee shop in Stirling.

The Smithy is the coziest and most welcoming cafe in Stirling. They have delicious food, including an incredibly cheap soup of the day (always tasty with great rolls), and the coffee always exceeds expectations. I've become a regular here. The atmosphere is great, too. Couches or tables downstairs with a fireplace, with a more 'restaurant' feel upstairs. And the garden out back is so lovely and peaceful when the weather's nice!
