It was good, a bit pricey but quite a nice experience. The building itself was very nice and in a very picturesque, charming archaic style with lots of wooden panelling and pillars. The whole vibe was very nice. The rooms were okay with a nice on-suite with a bath, a chair in our room was broken and my brother fell through it which was comical but for an older guest definelty not so much! Also one of the beds seemed to be missing a few slats so dipped disconcertingly at times. In the morning the breakfast was quite nice with a few options which were all enjoyable, the bacon could of been bit crispier but overall it was nice.

Up for sale, so a bit run down. Room is adequate and pleasant with ensuite. Nice fluffy white towels. Tea coffee and biscuits. WiFi is a bit iffy.

Stayed for 5 days at a modern' bells and whistles' hotel in Edinburgh and 4 days in Doune. The Woodside is a country hotel that is well loved by it's regulars. Feels like an old ocean liner that was once a sparkling place to be, but time ( and covid ) has caught up with it. Sadly ,the For Sale boards are up and this may be it's last Summer. While in this limbo they are only offering bed and substantial breakfast. The bar is closed and no evening meals being served. Bedrooms are clean with nice beds and everything you'd expect in room. Nice shower. Our room had furniture my Gran would recognise. Sitting downstairs on Chesterfield chairs , surrounded by parquet flooring and wood paneling. Very cozy. Couldn't get more friendly staff and a better breakfast. Loads of parking. Grab a bit of old world Scottish hospitality before it becomes a building site. Locals say this was once a popular busy place. Let's hope it can be saved and continue trading or it will be another site for housing. We enjoyed our stay. You can't create 1868 feel in a modern building.

Has a timeless quality which my husband and I enjoy. Very friendly staff who make you most welcome and good food. Even with Covid we both felt safe inside eating. Dogs are welcomed too

Lovely little find and a bargain, yes rooms are a bit dated but are very clean. Breakfast is fantastic and staff are very friendly and helpful especially lynne. She gave us some great advise about the area and made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be back in the future.

This is a friendly and cheap and cheerful place to go for somewhere to eat. Offers many traditional pub dinners plus some nice specials. Food was lovely with decent portions, staff were so friendly and helpful.

Most pleasant staff we encountered on our trip. They even gave us gifts the morning we left. We didn't want to leave! It was a quaint room with a very nice view of the nearby church. The continental breakfast was great as well! Cannot recommend enough!

We love coming to stay with Suzanne and her team, it's like home from home, They always make us welcome and nothing is to much trouble. Excellent service with a smile. We been staying here since our little girl was a wee one.
