Chippy in Amber Valley

Visited in October 2021 and gave it a 5*.. following recent visit.. see update now a 3*...Utterly Fabulous Fish & Chip shop...We stayed in Bradwell village, Derbyshire for a week and after the first visit to the chip shop, we could not resist returning at any and every opportunity.Whilst on the second week of our holiday, in a different area.. we returned to the village and of course, the chip shop... we were missing it.Everytime the chips were; fluffy, crispy and super tasty.So in short... The staff were all friendly the food was always AMAZING and the price was very good too.. Plus they decorated for Halloween.We totally recommend Fishcakes, Scallop, Sausage in Batter, the Curry Sauce and the Gravy... Not forgetting the chips...Give it a go... you will not be disappointed....@starnoldtravels

Would of given five stars, but it was worth the 8 mile drive from Buxton, the only down fall is there wasn't much option for our little one who has multiple allergies, although they did check, which was good of them as they clearly understood how important allergies are. Its just a shame there was only chips & beans suitable for him. Other than that it was absolutely gorgeous food.

Food was 5 star. However service was not. Server stood with her back to us and didn't engage at all while we waited. All one needs is a little conversation 🤷‍♂️ Visit date: 14/2 around 14:00

I was cycling by today at lunchtime and popped in for an impulse buy. Really friendly and helpful. A choice of 3 sizes of chip portion. My 'small' was substantial. Only 80p and absolutely delicious. I will return. Thank you.

Superbly cooked fish.Very well organized & clearly very popular local chippie. Lots of choice (not just fish, but also chicken, pies, fishcakes, sausages.Fish was excellent, with a not-too-thick and beautifully crispy batter. Chips not as impressive, but a very enjoyable meal.

The Yorkshire fishcake was amazing. The chips were really good. Curry sauce was spot on.Highly recommend after a day cycling in the hills and woods.

Not impressed with the new take over. before it was the signature place to go for homemade chicken curry and chips. But now it's definitely not worth the 15 min drive to it. Take a look at the old menu much better.

AMAZING! Best fish and chips I've had in ages and just what we fancied on a cold January night in our caravan in nearby Castleton. Freshly cooked fish as you walk in with a really friendly team serving. Love the gravy too. Will be back next time we're in Derbyshire. Thank you.
