"A country Bar with Award Winning Food, and a restaurant too, everything on our menu's can be 'Take Out' including our Traditional Sunday Roast, and we also serve hand-thrown pizza from our stone-bake pizza oven. A modern contemporary bar, two log-burning stoves and a great choice of beers and ales, wines and spirits with over 30 gins. Outside terrace and garden, and patio with sun-sail shades to the pub front, where you can eat, have a glass or two, and watch the world go-by. We have something for everyone who wants to have a relaxed meal, just a drink or a take out."

Great pub with a lot of character, really friendly staff, the landlord upcycles items in to lamps and other pieces. The food was really nice definitely worth finding and calling in for a pint.

Title of "2016 Derby Food and Drinks award winner" led me to suggest my daughter book us a mother's day lunch there. It was a set meal at £25 per head.I ordered the broad bean bacon bruschetta starter and that tasted as disappointing as it looked - badly matched ingredients thrown together and as expected it was most unappetising. The broad beans skin were pruned, the tomato slice looked and tasted like boiled tomato, and the bruschetta was like soaked bread. Hopefully the main will be better......oil swilling in my mouth on my first bite of the Yorkshire pud was novel, as never experienced oil filled Yorkshire pud before. OK so what about the chicken..... it was so dry and heavy as a brick that it gave me an arm workout cutting into it. The taste sadly didn't make up for the texture and the white sauce it was sitting in was...ermmm...well awful, unpalatable (what on earth was that sauce?!) and needless to say the food was not eaten. My daughter had the seafood pie and that was swimming in liquid. In fact, the whole pub smelt very strongly of fish (perhaps the air extractor fan was faulty?) which is not welcomed by most people. To finish our meal we shared our lemon cheesecake and fresh fruit pavlova which was OK.The waitress and landlady were lovely and helpful. The ladies room seriously needs some renovating to rid of the damp, flaking paint, broken flush, lack of heating as it was freezing in there and the warm water taps poured out freezing cold water.A dated pub that needs some money spent on it, and not sure what the food during the rest of the week is like, but judging by today's experience, a new chef who can cook and plan meals is seriously required.I am disappointed and feel sorry for my daughter for wasting her hard earned £70 to treat me on mother's day 2022.And John (the defender of poor reviews?), before you accuse me too of an inaccurate review, you seriously need to take feedback on board instead of calling reviewers liars, bears in clothes etc. Fact is your food today was awful, not worth the money, ruined a mother's day treat and the place reeked of fish.

7 of us for a birthday party. The food is really good, in fact amazing and thanks to our host who was so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

Wonderfull Meals are first class, and all cooked by Tracey the owner. Racheal a member of staff made us very welcome, and serves wonderfull gin and tonics. Thank you both, and in the words of Victor Stallone "I'll be back.". Tony and Anne.

Lovely location, super quiet romantic setting with our own corner table, wonderful food, plus our favourite wine. Will be going again soon. Highly recommended.

Nothing really appealed when looking at the sunday lunch menu. Eventually went for the bork belly, wife had the chicken dinner, was one of the best sunday dinners I've had.

Nice pub, with welcoming staff. Really enjoyed our roast belly pork. Very tasty and no fancy frills. Just a proper good roast dinner. Really appreciated the staff member ringing us back to sort us out a table after we were told it was fully booked. Would be nicer without all the odd decor so we could see the lovely old pub beneath but I guess it gives it personality. Thanks for a good meal, will be back.

We always have a lovely meal here. Tracy treats us like friends which is nice and we have never been disappointed in our meal. Also the pub has a lively vibe so it is very comfortable .

The food is fantastic. I had fish and chips and I was not only delicious but it was presented very well. I must say through that the chairs are very uncomfortable. Your always seating on the edge of them (they may not be all the same) this is why it's not 5 star. I do highly recommend the Fox and Hounds.
