Had a order to go yesterday and chips were tasteless and definitely not cooked! A fair amount of hours later this meal had repeated on me and other half to which we are both unable to get off the toilet. Definitely will not be eating here again as due to food poisoning. Not impressed

FANTASTIC FISH & CHIPS! I was a regular at Georges before Nik took over, and I have not been disappointed! Lovely service and the food is gorgeous too. Keep it up, Nik and the team!!

Called in with a friend for a sit down meal, really enjoyed our Fish-N-Chips, up to the usual standard. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely food and service as always! My favourite fish n chips in a cosy friendly restaurant, what more could I ask for!

Went for supper tonight with my parents. My granddad loves Georgeās and we always loved it too. Outstanding fish and chips and wonderful service by one of the nicest young girls we ever met! Iām sorry, we didnāt catch your name - brown hair and glasses! You are an absolute credit to the place. Thank you āŗļø Sara, mum and dad x

We went for lunch today, had to send the bread and butter back as there was green mould on the bread, chips were cold and the tea was stewed. Not like it use to be when it was Georgeās. The restaurant needs a complete overall. We shall not return.

When I say this place was soulless, i mean it was soulless! Quite possibly the strangest place I've ever eaten for all the wrong reasons. It was quieter than a library in there, no music, nothing, just customers sat silently eating their fish and chips staring at one another. It was not the atmosphere that any restaurant should have. The food was okay but due to 'supply issues' at the time of my visit about half of the items on the menu were unavailable. A poor visit all in all, but my food was nice enough, just could do with a bit of life in the place, I don't think that's too much to ask for!

Gutted with my first experience here after LOVING Georges. Over £4 for chip cobs with about nine or ten cold chips in a small roll. Nothing like the big filled juicy bag of hot chips and cob. No wonder it was empty at rush hour. King street it is now.

Just had fish and chips here when they opened at lunch today. The batter on the fish was rock hard on the ends, couldnāt even be cut with a knife and the rest was soggy and soft, clearly not freshly cooked. Despite only just opening the fish had clearly been stood for some time. So had this be re-heated from yesterday, I sincerely hope not.I was looking forward to lunch today, but very disappointing, half of the meal ended up in the bin, so at just under Ā£10 for one person with a can of drink I could have eaten better in a pub for less. I wonāt be rushing back anytime soon. You really should only let food stand for a certain time. I hate to think home long this had been stood. Very disappointing experience. Do things right and you wonāt get negative feedback.

Fantastic chippy, good value for money. Fish is very good, really nice chunks of fish. The gravy is unreal, it would make a northern weep with delight. Top job I'll be back
