A traditional English pub at its finest, what a great experience we had when we popped in for a drink. The landlord is a class act and boy does he know his stock. My wife was soon having a tour of the lovely malt selection and ultimately was soon enjoying a local malt for the first time. As for me it took some time to decide from the fantastic selection of real ales. Again the landlord scored a bullseye offering a little sample of the ones that I was interested in to help me decide. Decision made, the Makeney, an ale that is produced only for the Holly Bush Inn. One day we must return when we are in the peak district to enjoy a meal. One of the best pubs I have visited in a long long time which is easy to recommend without reservation. I would love to be able to add a bonus star, what a great pub.

A fantastic example of a traditional rustic village pub, with a great ale selection. Low ceilings, beams and stone floors. A small intimate space to sit in, and enjoy.Gets crowded, but this just adds to the atmosphere.Parking can be very tricky.

Fantastic place, one of relatively few proper real ale pubs left now, amazing selection of ales and perfect setting. Also has bar snacks like locally sourced pork pies.

Fabulous ambience in a 'traditional pub'; period furniture and fittings make for a cosy experience, and there's a very impressive range of beers, perries and ciders. The food looks exceptionally good; I can personally recommend the Pork Pie Platter. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Lovely little pub with lots of beers and cider's. A great pub to visit with your dog with free dog treats. Meals looked great and staff are super friendly.

This pub is a hidden gem. Love the feel of the pub, staff friendly and helpful. Have some live bands on. The beer is good and for a Tuesday there was a good crowd in. Quality pub fir me

We called for food and was very disappointed that they only serve food at lunch time and not the evening.Only bar snacks available. So we didn't stop. But it looks a very nice pub so we'll try again one lunchtime.

Love this pub, great for a stop off during or after a walk.

Top pub all year round. Great walks to it, perfect sitting on the walls in summer and inside by the fires in winter. Can't beat a pork pie and a pint with friends. Probably one of the best pubs in the country.
