A good value Sunday lunch on Fathers day. Good selection of beers and ciders on the pumps. Friendly staff and good service.

This place always has a warm and friendly feel! The staff and owners are great as are the patrons! Including the four legged kind!A very well kept bar, food is available and a great quiz too!

We've had a delicious Sunday Roast and my 6 months old baby girl enjoyed Swede & Carrot Mash❤️ puddings were amazing too! Chocolate fudge cake and toffee sponge!Pub owner even had a special plastic spoon for infants and didn't charge her meal. was nice to eat a hot dinner instead of keeping baby constantly occupied now that she can eat solids, also dog friendly pub too I love that so much in Derbyshire! Lovely time out! We drove past so many times and it's a shame we didn't visit sooner!

The Poet and Castle is a friendly little pub excellent service good range of real ales and also plenty of draft beers and lagers. A lovely warm real fire at one end of the bar although I never ate this time the food that was being served looks really tasty

Lovely pub and restaurant. We had hired a part of the pub for a wake after a family funeral. Service was amazing and we could not recommend highly enough.

Been here a few times now for sunday dinner, never been disappointed, food is always tasty and if like me you have a smaller appetite it is great value too

Really lovely polite staff...clean glasses and what looks like amazing food. Booked in for Sunday. Also dog friendly!!

·

Absolutely amazing turkey roast here at the Poet & Castle. Piping hot, very tasty and a beautiful homemade Yorkshire pudding. Our party of 5 all loved it and cleared their plates. Massive compliments to the chef xx

Nice clean country style pub opposite a large free carpark. The pub carpark is rather small so I suggest not using it. The food and drinks are well priced and the food is brought to the table quickly, whether inside or out. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and are to be commended for their service. We where in a party of 14 today and there was a wake on at the same time and they catered for all present easily. There is a large beer garden out back and an area where children can run around and play. Well worth a visit

The poet and castle is a great country pub. And definitely well worth a visit. It has a excellent selection of real ales and ciders along with a very good choice of wines. They have a very good beer garden with views of open countryside. And a children's play area next to the pub . With access through a gate to the side of the beer garden. Children are safe to play there and parents can also keep an eye on them with out having to worry. It's very close to codnor castle as seen on the TV series time team. The staff are excellent and very very helpful. If you're passing take a look. You will be happy you did.
