Sanam in Amber Valley

Amazing food! I'm lactose intolerant and they do chicken korma with a proper coconut milk/cream so I'm not poorly afterwards. Ordered already plenty of times! Always so welcoming. Lovely owner, been to eat inside for a date too, very lovely and fantastic customer service! Couldn't recommend it enough! Best curry I've eaten in the last 16 years!

Lovely small restaurant which is great for small parties.We were a party of 8 and the food was good and the service was impressive!The service from the front of house was exceptional, he worked incredibly hard and nothing was too much trouble!

Been driving past this place since 2005!Never considered trying it out - cos the didn’t look inviting and from outside walking or driving past! It does look dull - until me and the friends entered…Inside looks not bad and it has old school look from the 70s & 80sThe elderly guy was serving us and advised us try! This restaurant gets good reviews but unfortunately we had a bad experience. It was obvious from the beginning that there were issues here. Only two staff were available on a Saturday night. All attention appeared to be given to taking telephone calls for takeaway. I asked for the wine list which didn’t arrive. When I asked again and tried to choose a wine it was clear that none of the wines were available! Apparently it depends on what they have at the cash and carry. In any event it is obviously too much trouble to print a list of what wines they actually have. Most people drink beer so I suspect we would be in the minority. I still hate to think how long it would take to get any food. We didn’t wait to find out and left feeling let down and disappointed.

Me and some friends were staying nearby and thought we would give the Sanam a try. We were very pleased that we did . We were made to feel very welcome and had a delicious meal. We would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Really delicious food. Very friendly staff. Would 100% recommend having a meal there.

My first time getting a takeaway from Sanam last night. I have to say it was the best Indian meal I have had since living in Derbyshire! The gentleman I spoke to when placing my order was very friendly and cared about customer service. The delivery gentleman was polite and curtious. If you want authentic Indian cuisine choose Sanam. It arrived on time and was hot and well packed, very happy and I will definitely order again.

lovely curry at the right spice..... this place has had some bad press over the last few years and is now back on track to being one of the best tasting curries around here so, go on pop in and try it, you'll not look back. staff always friendly which helps too!

I'm not sure why there's so many good reviews for this place??Ate there last night and it was the most tasteless/bland curry I've ever had.The nann bread, however, was amazing but everything else was massively disappointing I've had better curries in a jar!Lacked spice, depth and flavour.At around £10 per main (well over priced) you'd expect quality. Unfortunately not.Avoid.
