We had Sunday lunch here after a walk. Felt the price was quite steep at £14 for what you get compared to other pubs we've been to. Disappointed that despite missing the rush, we were told to take a table, but most were dirty. My partner asked for our table to be wiped and was given a cloth and some spray. Really liked the games made available, nice touch.

Not a great experience. Ordered a burger, it was overcooked, almost burnt. I mentioned it to staff and they said they would pass my feedback on. No further response from that. The finished plates were just left on the table for over an hour. I had visited in the past and enjoyed it, but I won't be rushing back.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Nice staff and good food.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast. The food was impeccable and the service was great. We'll definitely be back.

Just had a lovely lunch here today. Got there early and it paid off as they were turning customers away whilst we were there. We both had the cod fishcakes with added chips (which wasn't on the menu) and it was all so delicious and very hot. Only down side was a bit of a wait, but we weren't in any hurry. Thanks very much. We hope to return.

Absolutely amazing for us today! Let us in early with our small crowd of children - provided them toys and colouring and were very accommodating in creating drinks and treats for us all! The service was just wonderful - thank you!

Very lovely interior and a perfect spot for a quick bite to eat outside with the dog. Dogs are allowed inside but the sun was shining and the scenery wasn't to be missed.

Make this the start and finish of a popular 3 mile walk nearby. It takes you a circular route along and across the river Derwent, leaving you ready for a well earned drink. The pubs clean, welcoming and has onsite parking. Ample spaced out seating in the grounds with a nice view of the river.

Quiet family meal, peaceful, certainly not currently too busy. Had trouble getting accurate info on openings / bookings, best response came via messenger as phone line was not connecting other than voicemail.Organisation and food was good, with lovely attention from staff team. Unfortunately no tapas currently on offer which is a shame but perhaps understandable in the context of sharing dishes. Wishing you the best for a busy and active summer 👍

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub has changed from its normal tapas menu to pub classics due to c19. The house merlot was lovely. The other half had the special chicken burger which was really nice. I had the pie chips and peas were great the pie was ok but it did feel like a chip shop pie. Great service and great prices really a main is about £10. All in all we would definitely return.
