The Hanging Gate in Amber Valley

First visit here,Excellent Menu,food was lovely,service very good. We will be back to try other meals on their varied menu. Highly recommended 👌

The Hanging Gate pub is in a stunning location overlooking the countryside and it is a beautiful building. It has a lovely, welcoming environment and the staff are absolutely incredible. Superb service from the moment you walk in. I love the decor! The food is absolutely amazing. Definitely great value for money. 10/10 cannot recommend highly enough! The staff cannot do enough for you and they are so friendly and accommodating. I will 100% be coming back here. Thank you for such a wonderful evening :)

A large car-park, and not too many cars in there, should have told me something!Any it was Saturday 1.30, and we were shown to table outside, which was very nice.My wife and I ordered rainbow salad with chicken as an extra, when it eventually came, it was just a green salad, a miniature sprinkling of seeds grains an the smallest amount of red pepper and squash.A chicken breast between us (dry) very disappointed, we had such high hopes and expectations 😢So we finished and I went to pay £39 + for 2 salads, not as described, and a small chicken breast between us, but the medium glasses of Merlot where fine.Sadly we will not revisit, do not wish to bring friends here.

Just had a wonderful lunch. There were 11 of us 7 adults & 4 children. Excellent friendly service and lovely food. Definitely recommend 👌

Only been once but definitely one of the “top-tier” Amber Valley gastropubs. We sat outside and the view, cleanliness, gourmet food, staff friendliness, and overall experience was excellent 👍Only negative was being attacked by a bee but I don’t think I can really hold the Hanging Accountable for the will of nature 😂 🐝

Wow what a fantastic meal. Staff were happy and friendly as soon as we walked in. Our server was lovely ( even laughed at our silly jokes) Efficient time was given to look at the menu while we waited for drinks. The food was absolutely delicious we had the valentines 3 courses and i must say the house burger with added halloumi was without a doubt the best I've had. All in all a great experience and will definitely be recommending to others and be going back ourselves. Great place to eat.

It was fine here. Went with friends for the Sunday meal. Good varied menu, beer was quite pleasant, usual selection, Doombar etc.Prices were OK, pretty typical of the sector. Serving staff pleasant. All good, without being outstanding in any way.

I have been a customer at the Hanging gate for 20 years or more. Over the last 5 years or so it has been going down hill. We booked a valentine meal and were a little supprised it was just the regular menu. We both had steak but....... it was the worse steak I have had.I wouldn't recommend the place now. It has had too many chances to put things right.

We had our valentine on Sunday I had a dozen Rose's delivered to the Hanging Gate for them to be presented to my partner when we arrived nice surprise she loved it thank you to the management for doing that you made my day and thanks to Rosie for the good service see you all soon

Came here looking for a nice country side pub, it was very nice, the staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. Really nice clean and relaxed vibe, would definitely come again.
