The Kedleston Country House in Amber Valley

Lovely place amazing building and gardens, and very friendly hosts. Unfortunately we were booked in for Monday night when bar and restaurant are closed so could not get the full experience hence only 3 stars. We booked via Booking.com and its not obvious about the Monday closure, whilst if we'd booked directly with them via Kedleston's web site then this was clearer.

We had a lovely two nights stay at Keddleston Hall hotel. A warm welcome, very nice room/en suite and enjoyable dinners with good choices and nicely presented. Staff most helpful and friendly. Certainly return.

After attending a networking event at the venue and enjoying the quality of the food, I brought my sister on the Sunday who is looking at potential wedding venue. The food was outstanding! Highly recommend the scallops and chorizo for starters and the main roast dinner was extremely generous! The leek dish was a stand out from what you'd normally get and we even squeezed in dessert! The hosts were extremely attentive, friendly without being overbearing, nothing was too much trouble and couldn't praise the kitchen & front of house staff enough - they're a credit to the venue. Whilst we didn't stay, we toured the available bedrooms and they are beautiful with a stand alone bath facility. I felt overall it was really good value for money and have recommended it to anyone who is looking for a place to eat near Derby after 2 successful visits!Please note: The owner noted at the networking event that there has been a change in staffing so in regards to the older reviews, don't take them to heart if you're considering visiting... you won't regret it :)

We stayed for one night. The Host was very pleasant, the room was very clean and well decorated. Breakfast was very pleasing. And the hotel is situated in the county surrounded by three farms. It is a grade one listed building and makes you feel very special.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant and warm welcome. Beautiful building inside and out. Would definitely suit a wedding venue! The grounds are lovely. Slight let down was the main road very close.Dinner was excellent food was beautiful and reasonably priced.Overall a great night out. 👌👌

We recently enjoyed a wonderful mid-week overnight stay at this exquisite Georgian country house which is situated in the most beautiful countryside, within a short drive or walk of Kedleston Hall. It is a very romantic location, the staff are so friendly, the rooms are spacious, luxurious and the furnishings throughout the hotel are beautifully done. The food is excellent and the staff were willing and able to provide local knowledge and suggestions, and made us feel most welcome. We will definitely be back soon.

We got married here on April 2nd and it was just an amazing experience. I also stayed at the venue the night before. The staff were super friendly and helpful; nothing was too much to ask! Can't wait to visit again for food and drinks

This is a truly amazing place! Fantastic staff, good food and lovely rooms. The room our friends stayed in had great views and both rooms were extremely comfortable. We had our dog with us and there are good walks directly from the hotel where you can see woodpeckers, birds of prey and peaceful countryside. There is a golf course less than a mile away and you are well located to discover more of Derbyshire. Breakfasts were huge and well presented and the evening meal was also delicious. Local gin in the bar and a good wine list. Compared to places where we live the food and drink offer real value for money!

Thanks for a fantastic night! We had a 3 course meal and stayed the night in The Kedleston Country House.The food was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious! The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay, we were made to feel very at home and the place itself is stunning from the decor, to the location and the rooms are to die for! Great selection of drinks at the bar there is something for everyone! An absolute hidden gem of a place! Would recommend to everyone and will definitely be visiting again soon!

We’ve just got married at the Kedleston Country House and we are so glad we did! We only had a small wedding of 35 guests and wanted a venue which would be able to accommodate a more relaxed intimate atmosphere and the Kedleston was perfect. The feel of the venue really offers that cosy, homely atmosphere we were after. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful throughout the whole planning process and they went above and beyond on the actual day itself. A special mention needs to be made to Lucy, who was so helpful during the lead up to the wedding, she kept me up to date with all the final little details of the day and made sure everything was perfect and as we wanted it to be. She was so responsive to my messages and accommodating to our requests. On the day of our wedding she really made sure that I was relaxed and happy throughout and kept checking in on me, which was very much appreciated. The same can also be said for Sarah, who really took the time and effort to get to know us and also our guests on the day, as well as ensuring that everything was running smoothly. All the staff on the day was so friendly and attentive. The food throughout the wedding and the next morning at breakfast was perfect and all the guests commented on how lovely each course was. The rooms were so comfortable and luxurious. Thank you for making our wedding everything we wanted and more, it was perfect x
