"We are Covid -19 socially responsible, taking both card and cash payments. Welcome to The Spanker Inn! We are a family, pet friendly pub, situated in the heart of the village. The pub has recently been taken over by new landlords and refurbished in a cosy style, enjoy a home cooked meal or a refreshing drink at the bar whilst taking in the beautiful view of the local windmill. Don't worry about where to park we have a large carpark on site! We have separate rooms for dining, drinking, a games room with pool & darts along with other board games and we have small meeting/private party room available for functions, as well as Beer Garden and two outdoor patios."

Fabulous Sunday lunch here today 😋. 4 adults and my 2yr old grandson. We had prawn cocktail starters and steak pie main, 2 others had traditional roast lunch. This was served with Fabulous roast potatoes, roast parsnips, massive Yorkshire pudding and a bowl of fresh vegetables 😋. Jugs of meat juice gravy. Absolutely what you want, it was a carvery at your table. Our grandson found the dominoes, connect 4 games to play and amused himself for the duration of our meal. We had dessert too, homemade cherry pie and lemon and cranberry homemade sponge and custard. The staff were brilliant and even brought us children's cutlery, which I've never experienced before. Highly recommended 👌

Fantastic service from the one member of staff (it was a Tuesday afternoon) who was doing everything except the cooking and constantly with a cheery smile on her face. She was simply excellent. The lager was cold and served in perfectly chilled glasses... we didn't eat there but the food looked and smelled incredible (and hot). Wouldn't hesitate to go back x

The food at The Spanker is lovely ,we had gammon egg and chips , chicken bacon and chips in bbq sauce, and a childs scampi chips a d peas. We also had homemade nachos and cheese which are yummy. We went when karaoke was on and it was very entertaining for us all. The staff are friendly and the pub is very welcoming.Ella and a young gentleman served us with a smile and had a good chat. Cheryl and paul also was joining in the karaoke having a laugh with locals . There is also a play area for kids which we will use in warmer weather with our daughter.

My experience at The Spanker has been that the team care greatly about the Customers. They want the venue to be a hub for the community, a place to meet friends, old and new, to experience good food and new food. They want the customer to enjoy their time as their guests and naturally, when that isn't the case, they want to be able to resolve any problems and respond to any comments, so that following experiences are better. They want to be honest and sincere and hope to receive the same in return, preferably in person, as this offers more immediate resolution and very much less distress and upset, when, as is often the case, there are many sides to all stories. My experience of customers at The Spanker has been varied, often joyful, often illuminating and sometimes, challenging. Luckily, the team at the Spanker are just that, a team and they rise together and pull together. My family have thoroughly enjoyed many visits to the pub and most recently the children have made great use of the new climbing frame in the beer garden. It only cost us bribery of chips and onion rings to tear them away!!

Popped in for a tonic ice and lemon and a chill. The garden area fenced in the car park was a lovely sun trap. The pub was pristine had a good selection of cask ales and polite and friendly staff. They also serve food . Looks pretty good too.

Paul and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent range of very well kept real ales. Beautifully and tastefully refurbished yet retaining the character of the place. Lovely clean toilets....just a note that a mirror in the ladies might be nice! Menu covers most of the basic pub food requirements. Food is freshly prepared, nicely presented without being showy. Dog friendly and outside seating. Huge car park. Great pub 👌
