Although this is local and I believe in supporting local business, I will not visit this cafe. The actual cafe service is average to poor at best, trying to mix itself as a post office / cafe, which ends up being neither. The coffee is weak and watery and I've not bothered with unappetising cakes or other food. The staff are not very friendly and seem to be half heartedly going about their job, either due to poor training or just a total lack of interest in being the best.

Friendly staff, good choice of cool drinks (and cool glasses kept in the fridge) plenty of freshly made cake choices and choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Highly recommended

Fantastic friendly pub, a real jewel in the crown of the village. We were welcomed by Denise the new manager into the beautiful garden festooned by fairy lights and so inviting were the patio heaters and blankets to keep us snuggly while devouring our delicious food & drinks. A destination place from now on most definitely. Would highly recommend. Will see you again real soonLesley & Tina

Absolutely excellent carrot cake. I don't think I've ever seen a post office/café combination before. Lovely place and the staff were delightful.

Despite the high temperatures my friend and I had a lovely visit to the Calf. Sandwiches were delicious and beautifully presented. We couldn't resist the home made cake! The staff were lovely and very friendly. My little dog appreciated the water and doggy biscuits We will definitely be back

Perfect place to stop halfway on my walk. Staff are really nice and there was plenty of cake to choose from plus lots of other things on the menu. Lovely outside area to sit with the dogs and have all the safety measures in place. Well worth the 11 mile round trip! Will be back next week.

A nice little cafe with a menu of sandwiches, paninis, coffee, teas and cakes.Nice, friendly staff but service was a little slow.I would like for the cafe to use fresh lettuce not the bagged variety though.

Love the spotted calf and often have bacon cob in the mornings for breakfast or a homemade panini for lunch followed by a lovely slice of homemade carrot cake or scone. The coffees great as well. So friendly and has a lovely outside space. They are growing there own tomatoes at present to add to your bacon cob if you prefer. Dog friendly and now has the post office inside. Overall a great community atmosphere run by the local community and well worth a visit .
