What a little gem. Great food and drinks. Had the two meals for £14 lunchtime special and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

Update review,not been before lockdown,the food standards are better than ever.Excellent service,very clean,very reasonable price for the size and quality of the portions,overall one of the best pubs in Derbyshire to go for a bite to eat,brilliant.

We went in as a group of 10 for a Sunday roast and the food was simply awful.The whitebait starter was as expected but no real seasoning. The mushroom soup tasted of paper. The goats cheese tart was the only time I've ever experienced moisture yet rubbery pastry. The beef was so tough I couldve used it as a car tyre. The pork was cold, gristly and unappealing in appearance.They did take 5 of the 10 meals off the bill, but that shouldn't have needed to happen.Will not be returning.

Fabulous food. Two of us are vegetarian and great choice. None of the four of us could finish the huge portions. Very friendly staff. First visit but won't be the last. Only £60 bill which included our tip. Can't fault anything.

Had a lovely meal tonight, all the courses were well cooked and really tasty. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Only thing that would have been nice would have been some non alcoholic cider.

arrived 1:15pm after hiking at around Clay Cross on thursday. the pub was almost full. there was lunch special menu, two meals for £14 and normal menu.we had mixed grill, rump steak and lamb shank. they were ok. the vegetable in lamb shank was come in separated bowl.

Fantastic home-cooked style food, great portions and unbelievable prices. You wouldn't feel hard done by if you'd paid half again! Will definitely be back soon for some more.

Superb food with an outstanding mixed grill full of perfectly cooked meat and crispy onion rings. Always a friendly welcome to both the humans and doggies that visit. Well recommended

Fantastic home made food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. They were very good with asking if we needed more drinks and sauces or anything. Will be going back!
