Food cooked was night place was clean and spotless. Staff are very frequently too. Down side is the cost £18.50 for two large fish and chips when there chip shops near by doing it for far less. I gave it four stars. But the price is expensive

Ladies had a smile- probably a forced one under the authority of the brat that runs the place.Only problem I have is that the owner wants you to accept cold food and not actually see it get put in the bag- i.e. you don't know whether he's giving you yesterdays remains or what- I was pretty peeved simply because his dislike for myself did not ought to be taken out on my mother who ended up with nearly £7 payment for food that was wasted. The peas looked like paint from nursery and were stone cold, My mother said the chips AND the fish were like warm and considering the time (not very long) it took to cook a cod to order- I'd say she's lucky not to have food poisoning- probably because she didn't eat much of it!This place has some good points but also some very bad ones- if the guy who owns it isn't going to allow you to see it being served- how do you know what you are getting?I will try to remember to never go here again

Excellent meals, reasonable prices and a big bonus for my wife was a separate Gluten Free menu. As a family we can all have a chippy tea together.

The Fish & Chips were brilliant this time .Although the last time we had them they weren't up to there usual standard. But will definitely go to them again. We have to get the Gluten free.

We have had fish & chips on quite few occasions & have been very good , but the last time i went they were not up to there usual standard, the fish was very dry (over cooked with very hard thick batter & chips under cooked.

I wanted to love it but dont. Chips are fine and that's what's important. Staff can be a challenge and the covid prep means they can't hear you and you cant hear them. As a result staff are abrupt. They have little customer standing space so for larger orders or anything gluten free expect to be asked to wait outside. Fine if you have driven but a pain if you have just walked over.

Our first visit to this chippy, and they were wonderful. We had a mini cod small chips and gravey , fish freshly cooked , chips soft but not soggy no hard bits and plenty of them for us. Will be using again .

I was in the area last weekend, and happened to drive past Daves Place. I was drawn to it straight away. There was a big queue formed outside, and the shop looked really good. I bought 2 large cod and chips. And I wasn’t disappointed. The fish was white as snow(and big) chips we were piping hot.The batter was spit on also. I really enjoyed my meal, and when I’m in the area i will definitely be going there again. Great find. The locals are lucky to have such a nice and professional shop,on there door step.

Been going here since before Christmas and was happy until tonight when we ordered a large chips which was size of a small and a large cod which was the size of a mini fish,so my husband went to sue's chippy at the bottom of skerry hill and got a large cod which is pictured below with Dave's place apparent large cod, even the staff in Sue's said we had been ripped off

Dave's place chip shop is a local chip shop of mine there are three local ones to where I live.I've come to Dave's chip shop today and as usual the chips taste fantastic as well does the battered sausage. It is 11:40am and even though I'm early for dinner these chips are freshly cooked chips unlike some chip shops where they warm up last nights chips to sell.
