Dog and Duck in Ashfield

A wonderful, relaxed atmosphere with very tasty food. Had a blue cheese and bacon burger, and a full rack of ribs. Well prepared and a pleasure to eat. Beer was cold, and the ice cream refreshing. We shall definitely return to the Dog and Duck. Need to book this time. Wait was a little long but it was a very busy time for the staff. And again, we returned and had a fantastic meal. Booking was easy , and the service was perfect.

Special menu for valentines but feel the lack of vegetarian options were disappointing! Not everyone eats meat these days.. 1 option on starters and main for veggies is not enough.Lovely atmosphere and the waiters where very good, just wish the menu had been better.The rose was a nice touch.

I have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints, food is always lovely, staff are always friendly and attentive. Would recommend this to everyone. Lovely atmosphere and lovely fine dining.

Went Christmas day for late dinner. Now take into account that we hadn't been out for a meal for over a year because of isolation etc and where looking forward to a nice meal. How disappointing this was. The starter was fine and then it went downhill. The main course was cold, the veg was not cooked at all and the Christmas pudding was a tiny £1 for 2 type that you get in a plastic tub, microwaved. All this for just under £80 a head. Won't be returning to be insulted with a meal like that again. You should be ashamed to call yourselves a restaurant.

Me and my partner visited here on Sunday for a roast and I have to say it was absolutely beautiful! From start to finish we were very satisfied with the level of service and food we received! Chloe and Sam particularly stood out for their very attentive, professional and polite service! An absolute credit to the Dog & Duck team! Our Sunday lunches were fantastic and after a particularly full on day, we found it very relaxing here! Thanks so much for a lovely time, we can’t wait to return in the new year 😊

Staying at Forest Holidays and hugely recommend the 15 min wall to this pub/restaurant. The decor inside is really nicely done and the food itself is absolutely amazing. One of the nicest meals I've had in a long time. Perhaps not the cheapest but totally worth every penny. They also do cocktails but was too stuffed to try them!!

Fantastic meal, yes it's a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and then some more. Will definitely be coming back!!!!

Nice setting. Nice background music. Food was good. Service is a little cumbersome but not bad. I had the duck with was perfectly cooked and well presented. Knife could have been a bit sharper but I'm just picking. The peaches I felt should have been served warm rather than straight out the tin. 'Im indoors had a hot chicken burger which was well sized and well presented but he said only had a hint of heat. Would recommend for those staying at Sherwood forest campsite as its an easy walking distance. They have water bowls for the dogs too.

They staff are fabulous, they are friendly, welcoming and really attentive. We popped in for drinks two days running and decided to have dinner on the third night. The food was brilliant and the cocktails were fantastic. We will certainly be going back if we are in the area again.

Had to post about this place. Definitely 6stars.By a long way just the best pub food I've ever had .The steak and ale pie was properly homemade and quite simply the best one I've tasted.My daughter had gammon, ducks egg and chips and as shown was fantastic.The outside area was really well done and the staff were brilliant.This place shows what can be done properly when someone puts the effort in.My only problem is I live in South London!Very well done guys
