Lovely pub and food looked delicious

I have been here before but not recently.First impressions today were not good. Our table was booked for 12:00 and the lady who unlocked the door disappeared into the kitchen and nobody else appeared for a few minutes. There were no menus either. Eventually a young girl came and gave us a menu and served us drinks.We ordered the steak and mushroom pie and it was absolutely delicious. All home cooked and piping hot. Good value at £6.95. This pub used to be very busy on a Sunday and it’s a shame that it isn’t the case now. It has recently been refurbished and is clean with a nice decor.The food is definitely 5 star if you don’t want anything fancy just home cooked tasty food. The staff are friendly too

Great traditional pub. Open and friendly!!! Host the Armed force & veterans breakfast club. Held every 3rd weekend unless stated. Soon to be 2 times a month thanks to Rose, Martin and Pat!!!

I really like the duke of Wellington but due to covid compilations they are like many up against it . Good food but I think they should put an A board outside for passing costermers

Atmosphere was good for a Friday, it was the first time I had been in for a while and to be honest was a little shocked of the change, normally on a Friday they used to have 2-3 members of staff on but was greeted by a lovley girl on her own, which concerned me as she was running back and forth trying to keep everybody happy and not to get the young lady in trouble but she didn't look old enough to be serving alcohol. However she was lovely and poured a perfect pint. But seems like the establishment is missing a few key parts to running a business, will not put me off from coming in again but I felt really bad for the young lady on the bar.Alan

I would prefer not to give them a 1 star review. He came to our table and falsely accused us of smoking weed in front of the entire pub. He said he was going to bar us due to this. I spoke to the manager ,( who accused us) and asked him why he did that because it was so rude. He responded with he knows everyone in this pub and no-one would do that. VERY VERY RUDE

Great place, friendly, lovely beer garden has lots of space, casual drink with friends can't beat it. When Sun's out anyways haha

Popped in on our way whilst out walking and sat outside, table service, friendly staff, nice coffee.

Great pub with a brand new bar billiards table. A great bunch of locals up for a game too. Decent ale on offer at a good price. Worth the trip out for us, we will be back again soon
