Visiting a local wedding venue. We called in, as it's the closest pub, for refreshments. A little run down but the beer is perfectly acceptable. Appears to service a camping community. Nice spot near the boat club.

Good pub, great for dog walking along the river. Beer well kept, unsurprisingly as it is in the Good Beer Guide for a second year.

Had a 30 mile cycle ride round trip from Lincoln and ended up here for Sunday lunch .It was a lovely day so sat out to eat.I had the roast lamb which was absolutely delicious..tasty and tender and a lovely large portion. My cycling friends chose the beef and the pork and were all impressed with the portion size. My lamb dinner was under £10. Pork was £7.50 and beef £8.Faultless!Set us up for the 15 mile journey home. Will definitely be back to eat. There is also a camp site on site..which is situated next to the river Trent, perfect for long walks!

Only went in the beer garden / camping area. Music was playing, the sun was shining and the one drink I had was spot on. They do food too, but didn't stay long enough to try that. Great setting.

Camped as a group. Got my car stuck on a metal pole that was hidden in the overgrown grass along the side of the field. There were a few holes, one was so big they put a traffic cone in it instead of filling it in. Apart from that it's not too bad but you do need decent tent pegs as it's very hard ground. The pub was an even worse experience. I have never been anywhere where the service was so bad and unwelcoming. Me and a friend booked a table for 6.30pm, we were shown to a table in a different part of the pub to the rest of our group. 3 staff stood behind a bar while we waited to order drinks. Eventually we got a drink, the diet coke was so flat it was undrinkable. The people on the table next to us had waited 2 hours to get their meals and one lady had to ask for hers to be warmed up. At 7.45pm we asked how long ours would be and was told 2 minutes. At 8.30pm we were still waiting, cancelled our order and went back to the tent to find something to cook after waiting 2 hours with a flat coke. The others in our group, in the other side of the pub had just been served after waiting 2 hours. The staff never smiled, the service was appalling, drink was rubbish and I can't comment on the food as it never arrived!!The following day the toilet/shower room was locked and bolted so that we didn't have anywhere to go to when we needed the loo. Later it was reopened, I'm guessing there would have been complaints. One toilet was blocked and out of order with a sign on the door. There was still one toilet in good working order but we had been denied that. The toilets were never cleaned by staff, there was no toilet paper, nothing to dry your hands on, no hot water to wash your hands and we had to put water into the hamdwash bottle as it had run out.The other campers on the field were very friendly and welcoming, the staff in the pub unfortunately were not!
