Papas Fish and Chips in Bassetlaw

Always loved this chip shop but last two times I've been the fish has been overcooked and dry, last visit me and dad waited ages even tho there wasn't many customers so waited in car so long when it came out we went home to eat the fish was tiny even tho we ordered a regular and large cod meal deals and the chips were brown some were hard but the fish was so overcooked so crispy some were so hard to chew amd the fish was dry was very disappointing, 2nd time this has happened now sp makes me wary to buy again. Such a shame as I loved this place and was a regular.

Fantastic customer service. I arranged a socially distanced Christmas get together for around 45 staff and Papas offered to deliver to our workplace. Really delighted with the service. Would recommend on that alone. Thank you Papas.

Shambles from start to finish. Waited over 40 mins from order been taken to recieving our sausage and chips. Had originally ordered homemade fishcake and chips but after 20 minutes after the order was told they didn't have any.Lots of people getting fed up with the wait.Young waitress we had serving us was lovely but guy behind till was very abrupt with her all the time. Could clearly tell she was training so support was needed but instead of helpful her he kept been off with her which a lot of customers saw.Won't be returning

Extremely clean, lovely friendly and helpful staff with fish freshly cooked on order. Always tasty, good quality and plentiful.

Great food, great value and friendly staff in the restaurant. They served our group of 9 promptly (we were there perhaps on a quiet Tues 6pm).

Very disappointed. From the reviews we would have expected far better.The service and Covid precautions were excellent.Food was cooked to order and great to hear traditional beef dripping used.Chips were cooked fine.The whole meal was ruined by leaving the skin on the haddock.Drove from Mansfield expecting great things only for my taste buds to be assaulted by the skin.First and last time visit. I do NOT recommend I will travel into Yorkshire for perfection next time.

Superb service and attention from the owner and all of the staff here.!!Excellent quality food specially cooked to order to our dietary requirements.Best level of retail service ever experience in over 70 years.The effort that was exerted here at Papas, Worksop by the owner and his staff to ensure our meal met the highest standards was unique.Thank you to you all.

Fantastic gluten free fish and chips but the curry is no longer gluten free 😐
