Beautiful place to sit and eat, spread over a large area. Furnishing are clean and beautiful. Food is very good and a great selection on the menu, including some good vegan options. However the service at the table was slow and the staff were not very familiar with their menus. Some simple questions about the food, seemed difficult. We were give a desert menu and waited about 20 mins for the order to be taken, after some prompting, we had been forgotten. My husband ordered a coffee to have while we ate desert. But his coffee never came. After a chat with a manager, the coffee arrived minus the hot milk required. Then a second coffee was brought with hot milk that hadn't been ordered. So we were asked if anyone would like it. We did, but assumed it to be complementary, but we were charged.

There was five of us in our party. Firstly the food was excellent and we couldn't really fault it. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the service. We waited simply ages to be served. The food took ages to come. We tried to order desert. The waitress went to get a menu and never returned. So we had to chase that. We waited best part of 30mins for that to turn up but minus a coffee which I had to be chased up. Then served two when we had ordered one. Which we paid for. We will try the Roman way again as the friends we were with. Have been many times and always had good service. At no point was any apologies offered.

Never been before, but can honestly say I was impressed. The layout was good, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The order was taken promptly and the wait for the food was short, which was great. The food itself was just enough, the full English had 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs & 2 hash browns, with black pudding, beans, 1/2 a tomato and a large button mushroom, all perfectly cooked, the coffee was fresh from the bean which was very tasty. So all in all great value for money, would definitely call again when passing through Newark, just a shame we don't live closer

This was the first time I have been since Covid lock downs. The service was excellent. The food is good value for money. I had a steak and scampi, the chips were very nice £10.65. Steak was average but passable. For the price can't fault it.

We live locally but haven't visited the restaurant in years. We only took a chance today as couldn't get in our favourite pubs due to it being mother's Day, but what a pleasant surprise. Food was excellent and the service even better. Love the spacious areas too, don't feel crammed in especially with COVID prevalent. We will be back

Would normally give 5 stars but on this occasion we were awaken by the bin men collecting the rubbish & a brewery lorry delivering. Overall a good stay, staff were excellent & very helpful. Just the downer about the early morning wake up movement.

If you want a hotel-style breakfast without renting a room, then here you are. It's the epitome of reasonable. Not amazing, but nothing terrible. The continental is all you can eat, not the full English.

Called in on Saturday 29th January. Place was basically empty save for maybe two tables. We (party of two) waited at the front till to be seated as it asks, over the next few minutes a member of staff made eye contact with us twice but continued about her business - I think she was moving chairs but certainly didn't acknowledge our presence at allAfter another couple of minutes we walked over to a second till towards the back of the restaurant where another member of staff had been sat working at a terminal and asked for a table for two. We were sent back to wait at the entrance as she was busy, and said she would be with us 'soon'Walked straight out, never going back. No wonder there was no-one eating if the service is this bad

Bang average burgers for over average price.The place felt closed, dark and quiet. Front car park rammed, as there is the hotel on site, so no parking. Had to park in the rear car park, though on fairness, its almost just as close!Staff were great and helpful.Otherwise, it's just not a destination place to eat.

Attended with a small group of friends on a Wednesday tea time. Wasn't very busy. Service was friendly and quick. Food is standard pub chain restaurant quality and value. I'm yet to find one of these chains that can cook prawns and scallops correctly without turning them to rubber. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was closer to medium/well done. The rest of the food was good though, with a nice black forest Sundae to top it all off. You get what you pay for in these type of restaurants and overall its good value. Access is good and parking available right outside the door. The local McDonald's next door does get busy and blocks the access road with drive thru patrons, but it's not a massive inconvenience to wait a few minutes.
