Shireoaks Inn Restaurant in Bassetlaw

Nice pub with a good atmosphere, music was a little loud for a lunch time but it was requested to turn it down a bit and was done straight away with no issues at all. I had the beef and potato pie with chips and mushy peas, this was on the lunch time special for £8 it was beautiful the meat was so tender and plenty of it, I definitely recommend this place.I shall be returning.

Good quality food in a lovely pub with good hosts and staff

Only our second visit to this place, tried the hunters chicken as this is one of my go to meals at most places and i was not disappointed! It was actually one of the nicest I've had! Absolutely beautiful! And the homemade chips are beautiful also! 100% recommend x

Their ideas and intentions are genuine but in practice they go about things the wrong way. When dealing with large parties, say 15 or more, pre-arranged food is a must, particularly if there are issues with staff. The result is better for you, and the customers alike. An alternative, would be reduce the menu options. Outcome exactly the same as above. You have a lovely pub, with great facilities. Change the working pattern, and it'll be fantastic.

Came for a funeral wake, food is well cooked and presented. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Place is clean and bright with good toilet facilities. Would certainly come again for a normal meal.

A large party for a Christmas meal. The food was good but to be fair we ordered in advance and our starters choice never arrived. I ordered a roast beef dinner which turned out to be brisket not roast beef. It didn't bother me too much, I love brisket but it was misleading and that was the second course not as expected. On the plus side the food quality was good, portions were plenty big enough and there was a large selection of sweets. All together we had a good meal in comfortable surroundings. A great get together venue.

Lovely, fresh feeling, local pub with separate restaurant area. Good menu choices at reasonable prices. Food and drink were all very good. Staff were very attentive and we had a lovely experience overall.

Had my mother-in-laws wake there.When I called to book, the staff member was very helpful. I got a call back from the manager and the booking was accepted. He felt I'd over booked so asked me to consider the numbers, he didn't have to do that and I appreciate the fact that he did.There was a large variety of hot and cold food on offer with unlimited hot drinks. The hot chocolate was especially nice.The staff were all very efficient and friendly. There was a slight problem with the hot drinks dispenser for hot chocolate and as a couple had to wait for them to clear a blockage the staff spoilt them by giving them some squirty cream on top. A small gesture but a much appreciated one.I highly recommend this venue the food is of a high quality and the staff are lovely.Thank you x

What a beautiful place, took an old family member for lunch, this was his go to pub back in the day and I cannot recommend the drinks food and service enough. Very welcoming and friendly and food was absolutely amazing 🤩
