Nice Sunday lunch in a pleasant atmosphere and setting. Don't buy the tonic water, at £2.00 per glass its extortionate.

Don't generally have Sunday lunch, but this was really nice. Haven't been in Boat for a long time and being back was also nice, olde style exposed timber decor...fireplace etc etc...lovely staff not given it 5 stars as want to come back again to try different menu. 🙂

Beautiful pub right on the canal, food was excellent with good size portions and very cheap, very warm welcome dog friendly pub would recommend to anyone. They also have accommodation so next time we're going to stay over as it's very reasonable priced.

Even though it wasn't very busy the food was lovely and staff welcoming . We will be going back for more 😁

Lovely place for drinks and lovely meal. Very nice pub. On the river trent. Five stars.

Not very welcoming - the place was deserted on a Friday teatime. Nice location by the canal but the waterside tables are overgrown and next to a run down boat and mooring.Could be a fantastic pub but won’t be going back again.Lucky that the weather was nice enough to sit outside - even though we were the only customers.

Really lovely pub in a beautiful setting by the Chesterfield canal. Nice and local for us but definitely worth a visit if you are passing.

Haven't been here In quite some time, if I'm honest we had gone to the Gate Inn (Clarborough) originally, but sadly another pub gone to the wayside... but to be honest, it was not a disappointment. The landlord (perhaps this is now known as manager) was very welcoming, and surprisingly the pub became reasonably busy around 5pm. So yes, pay a visit if you want a friendly relaxing drink.

Had a Sunday Roast. It was served VERY quickly presumably from a warmer...the peas and carrots were turning yellow as had been cooked too long ago. The chicken was a seasoned braised breast and had not been roasted as a full bird. The mash wasn't completely smooth, and the roast potatoes had no crispness. Service was efficient, polite and friendly, but I wasn't hugely impressed by the hygiene standards in the ladies room.... food was cheap as huge plateful for £8, but I'd have gladly paid more for better. All in all, I'd say it was quite average for a pub out in the sticks doing their best during quiet times.
