Surroundings very nice, staff really good, meal was a huge disappointment. 1cof the starters had obviously been left on the Hotplate too long. Dried out and rock hard. You could have dented the walk with the Yorkshire puds. So hard and dry you literally couldn't cut through them. My desert was treacle sponge but it had obviously been left in the microwave too long as the treacle was like melted plastic. Won't be going back that's for sure.

Visited for lunch with a friend! Beautiful setting on the side of the canal so peaceful. Food was amazing so fresh and tasty. Brilliant staff friendly quick and helpful.

Chicken pie was more pastry and sauce than chicken, with strangely hard chips. Confusion over beer promotion price didn't add to experience. Having said that, we've been before and had a better experience, so maybe just unlucky today.

A very appealing menu which served tasty, well presented food with good portion sizes. The staff were friendly, smiling and extremely helpful all throughout the night. It was nice to see management checking that all was in order and meaning every wordA well deserved 5 star review

Went for Sunday dinner. Decent surroundings and friendly staff. My partner is coeliac so needs to have a gluten free diet. My dinner was OK but his was a portion that a 5 year old would easily manage. We won't be going back and definitely not good value for money in my opinion.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, staff were excellent while my 2 1/2 yr old was running about. I definitely recommend the BBQ Burger and the Chicken Diane

We have been to Chequers a few times now and the food is consistently outstanding and very fair priced. The Inn has a back area that overlooks the canal which is stunning especially in summer. The staff are incredibly helpful and they all have a very friendly approachable attitude who will cater for your every need. Chequers still operates a safe distance between customers when dining which is comforting. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.

Nice pub next to a meandering canal less than 10 mins from the A1. Good food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff

Lovely meal with friends and great service too. Great to be able to moor the boat there
