The Dominie Cross in Bassetlaw

Was quiet when I went in. Well set out and clean and tidy. The prices are reasonable and a good menu. They have a big area outside with tables. Staff are pleasant and keep on top of clearing away and cleaning.

My husband went up to order but was completely ignored despite it not being busy at the bar, staff served other people around him and someone pushed in front and got served. We were disgusted at the terrible customer service plus the place was really dirty and staff didn't seem bothered . We walked out without getting anything and we definitely won't be back. It seems if you're not a regular they don't want your custom, we were going to buy meals but we took our money elsewhere.

I went to the Domini Cross on Thursday evening and was treated very well by the staff. It was a very busy evening as it was St Patrick's Day and the staff handled it very well especially James from Texas who went the extra mile and is an absolute asset to Weatherspoons thank you James for all your help with my bike so i could get home.

Little gluten free choice, when my food arrived it was disappointing. Liked decor but could do with a good clean.

A friendly spoons, the toilets aren't in a different postcode which is a bonus. Food was well cooked and well presented and ordering via app from the table is always easy

Loved the atmosphere staff very pleasant only problem was they had painted the outer door to the toilets so they were wedged open and when our granddaughter who is 9 tells you she just saw a man holding his willy at the sink( her words ) in the men's toilet I was concerned

I remember the pizza being terrible, it was like the ones you made in primary school and your mother said it looks nice when in fact it was terrible.Other than that the cheap drinks was a bonus along with my friends staff discount. The night ended up with me passed out on my bathroom floor covered in sick due to access alcohol.I also had work at 9am the next day.Commitment that is.

Great food and quick to take empty plates away

The Dominie Cross doesn't have much kerb appeal, but it's a big pub inside. Food and drinks menu is very reasonable, plenty of options, and all tasted OK too. Staff seemed nice and friendly, and general cleanliness was OK. Possibly not somewhere you would think off for a posh meal out, but for a quick dinner with two fussy children it did the trick!
