The food was well cooked and plentiful. The service was amazing, such friendly,helpful staff. Would definitely recommend. 10/10.

The food was stunning and lovely staff. The lady who took the booking and took our order was absolutely on the ball. And didn't take any prejudice even of we were from Lancashire.

We had an exceptional meal last night. Everything from arriving to leaving was superb. Quality food which was well presented. The venue itself is also tastefully decorated, traditional and welcoming. We will be back soon.

Decided to stop off here after a morning at sundown with our 3 year old. Great menu, amazing food and lovely service, will definitely visit again if we're in the area.

Great choice for Sunday lunch, we had 2 beef, 1 lamb,1 turkey with trimmings and all were superb... Friendly staff, atmosphere, good beer and a lovely little pub.. Will definitely recommend to friends.. 👍

Absolutely incredible find! Travelling home from a mini Asian food tour we fancied some traditional pub food, few miles off route we found this little gem of a place. Nestled in the centre of the beautiful village of Askham is the Duke William. Spotless with excellent covid measures, inside or outside dining available. The landlady couldn't have been more welcoming, we felt like special guests even though the husband and wife team were busy.The menu was an appealing mix of Asian inspired and traditional fare, we decided to share some Korean fried wings to start (pictured). I cook this cuisine obsessively and I can tell you these were absolutely spot on and beautifully presented. We then went for the Mussels with bacon and cream and the beef and mushroom pie. The Mussels were plump and well cooked with a delicious shellfish broth to mop with the homemade foccacia. The pie was packed full of lean steak, falling apart soft with mushrooms and rich gravy encased in a beautiful crumbly butter rich pastry.We were full but knowing the pudding menu was all home made, we shared a sticky toffee pud with salted caramel ice cream and a beautiful butterscotch sauce.Everything home made fresh on the premesis and was incredibly fairly priced. Trust me, this place is worth a visit even if its a drive for you, you won't be disappointed. We're already panning a trip back to sample some more of the menu.This is how you do country pubs.

Really nice evening on the 04.09.2020. They had a good 1 way system and accessible hand sanitizer. We booked a table and was seated on a nice place. I would recommend booking if you would like a meal, especially if you have a larger group. We ordered starters, mains and a few pudding as well as drinks. The menu was nice and had variable dishes for everyone, including multiple vegetarian dishes. Our waitress was lovely and patient with my grandparents who were a little indecisive. The food was nice however my Shepard's pie was a little sweet for some reason. We had a lovely evening and would go there again :)
