"A traditional pub, serving the finest cask ales and a great choice of lagers, ciders, spirits and wines in a great family friendly atmosphere. We serve great freshly cooked English and Scottish breakfasts every Saturday and Sunday from 9am-1pm. Sky sports and BT sports."

One of the very few pubs to have live music on a regular basis. Fair play for effort. And most of the bands are really good.

Best pub in town...will welcome back after lockdown with gusto!!!!May 3 2021 And here we are in high winds and rain.....still great beer and friendly staff. What's even better is that if someone behaves like a petulant child and refuses to wear a mask or prove exemption......they don't get served.Hurrah!!!

I LOVE this pub! In a world of modern bars and generic 'gastro' pubs The Galway Arms has remained true and nowadays it is one of the only 'proper' pubs left in Retford which in itself makes it a rather special place. On a Saturday and Sunday you can get the very best brekkie for miles around (in my opinion). Choosing either full English or full Scottish as well as other options, the price is very reasonable and the portions very generous but most crucially of all the quality of the ingredients is top notch and you can literally 'taste the difference' (sorry Sainsbury's! 👀😆).Good beer; on draught or otherwise and a great atmosphere with live music a regular occurrence as well as numerous large and smaller screens broadcasting sports.Outdoors there's a pleasant and well maintained patio and smoking area including under cover areas and snug, comfortable seating with heaters as well as plenty of parking available. What's not to love? I'd give it more than five stars if I could!
