"At our Flaming Grill pubs we have something for everyone - our pubs are a great place to meet with friends, family and fellow sports fans to enjoy a great range of food and drink. We're famous for flame-grilled food and sizzling skillets. All of our steaks are 28 days matured and there's nowhere better to get a pint when the football's on!"

Super boozer for watching the football. Lovely old building with tons of character. Reasonably priced food & friendly staff!

·

Clean and surprisingly fragrant with friendly staff, good selection of beer and (much to my surprise) chairs that were comfortable for my 6'5", rapidly-declining skeleton!Handy for buses to/from Leicester. Was tempted to drop a star for the lack of phone signal but that's not their fault.

·

Nice meal good value , we were in there 80mins apparently your allowed 90mins before entering your registration , we got a parking ticket for £100 , DONT THINK WE WILL BE GOING BACK

Wish I had read room reviews before I booked.Stayed in several bland corporate travelodge, Premier inns, in days leading up to this visit. All were spotlessly clean and comfy, but decided to spend about 25% more to go for a pub with a bit of charm. What a mistake ! !From the 10 minute wait for the manager to turn up with room key, the 20% food discount voucher during you stay on the booking email not working, and staff not having a clue what to do about it. I didn’t push them to sort it to be fair, because I just wanted to pay and go to my room. With Covid having been around so long now you would of thought any place offering rooms would take extra care of cleaning. The only sign that this place took extra action was the key return box saying keys are sanitised between visits. Pity they don’t try cleaning rooms. Cobwebs all over windows and beams, dusty dirt stained carpets. At £45 for the night it’s a shame some of the money wasn’t spent on replacing the broken cistern lid, shower hose that was taped together but still leaked, cracked bath panel, water stained Lino, basin taps that swivel then leak.Or how about attention to the heating ? Radiators had the head of trv valve removed so not possible to regulate room temperature, although the bedroom radiator had an air block so only the very bottom got hot anyway.A redecoration wouldn’t go amiss as walls had paper pealing away in parts and dirty stains on paint in others.Pub itself was not outstanding, Obviously popular with locals so must be doing something right, and perhaps I was just unlucky that it took 3 attempts to pick something of the menu that was still available, and of the 4 cask pumps only 1 was available.Leaving late morning next day the place looked a mess outside with glasses and dirty ashtray scattered about. It’s a shame as it has potential to be great but whoever is making decisions on how money is spent obviously can’t be bothered with this pub.Reviews previous have started much the same for years about state of rooms but nothing done.Day before this visit I was eating in a Green King pub near where I was staying and service and general pub cleanliness was excellent, which was why I looked for Green King to stay at. Clearly company doesn’t look closely enough at standards of places baring their name across their portfolio.

·

Great value pub grub and superb service for a work Christmas meal. Service was spot on and in good time with steaks cooked as ordered. Friendly booking management from Shanice and service on the night. We won't hesitate to book a large group meal here again.

Very long wait for food despite not being busy.Only one streak out of five was good. None were sizzling on arrival. The building is old and has character, but needs a good clean and would also benefit from the removal of TV's in some areas.Certainly not the pleasant experience it used to be.Staff friendly, so that is a positive.

·

Good value pub food. With a big range of options. Staff attentive and polite as always. The pub was awash with festive spirit.

Just got back from Having Sunday Roast will not be going again, we were really looking forward to a Roast Dinner , we ordered the Beef , I don't know where the beef comes from or what kind of beef it is ? It had a texture and taste which we couldn't eat ,its as if its steamed?the veg is frozen warmed up ,the mash is a funny colour the gravy was lumpy also there are no Horseradish sauce, Mint Sauce need I go on .What a shame

Only popped in for a couple glasses of wine . It is what it is yes, not a fine dining but for a casual drink or some cheap and cheerful pub grub I wouldnt complain. Prices on menu were very good. Freindly staff and chilled.

We went for Sunday Lunch, as we arrived the entrance was utterly filthy, cigarette butts all over floor at the entrance. On entering we noticed that only basic cleaning had been done, the floors were sticky and stained and hadn't been mopped. Shown to a table by very pleasant staff. The menu's were filthy, hadn't been wiped down in a long time, considering we are still in the midst of it was appaulling. The meal came, all of it was frozen produce, tasteless and under part, saving grace is that the staff were helpful19 covid coron
