Hogs Head Hotel Restaurant in Broxtowe

Food was good ( apart from the tiramisu which was very watery and cover in synthetic cream) as always but we’re made to feel rushed as staff kept looking at our table ready to clean it, this was after a rather rude member of staff asked if we already ordered sweets and drinks as our table was re booked in 10 minutes, we had only been there less than an hour , so when the sweets came we felt very rushed , we wasn’t told of a time limit when we booked , they had only given the table next to us 30 mins which is ridiculous especially as there were 5 of them , I understand Sunday lunch is a busy time but it would be better if paying customers were made aware of any time limits before booking as this would definitely put me off going again .

Service great and food was very good and a nice Selection of vegetables. It was cooked through and very tasty. And the staff were very friendly and helpful to me as I am disabled. I would recommend it to anyone who likes proper English food.

First time we've ever visited and decided on a Sunday carvery, I must say it was lovely. 4 meats, including lamb which isn't often seen on a carvery. You are served with a Yorkshire and then everything else you serve yourself including stuffing, roast potatoes, mash, carrots, peas, green beans, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, and gravy. One of the lovely waitresses came around a little later with extra gravy. Then after our carvery they quickly came and cleared our table and asked if we would like a sweet, home made and delicious and a very generous portion of rhubarb crumble with custard, my husband had treacle sponge and custard. Lovely staff made our first visit vert enjoyable, we left a tip on leaving as I truely think the food and service was worth every penny. We will be visiting again, maybe in the week next time to sample the weekday menu.

Quaint little out of the way place, run by a lovely couple. The room are smallish, but well decorated and clearly modernised fairly recently. Good selection of food in the restaurant, all in all, highly recommended.

It’s the first time we stayed at this hotel and everything was superb very friendly staff the room it was very confortable same as spotless, we had some drinks at the bar and the have plenty of good options for food and drinks.We definitely enjoy staying at this place the free breakfast it was a very generous portion for sure one of the best places we have been here 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Not been for years, used to go with parents. Great meals, very good value, staff lovely nice to get great food, great service and local, definitely be going regularly

Went for a meal tonight very disappointed with it. We ordered fish and chips one with peas and one with salad. Mine arrived with no chips on and the other one was barely warm. The chips were hard and we did not enjoy our meals at all. Will look elsewhere next time.

What an amazing meal. Amazing staff! A lady came up to me half way through my meal and asked if i was okay because I looked emotional she was amazing. Not sure of your name but thankyou xxxx

Absolutely spot on! Fantastic food. Staff were great, especially with our kids whi wanted more Yorkshire, gravy and mash, the staff said yes, made some very happy kids. Will be going back after Christmas for definite.

Went well at first. Dated place but relaxing. Good value.Disappointed that I had no hot water in the morning and had to go to a meeting with a client covered in last night's swear from the gym....Disappointed that no reduction in the room rate was offered...I had to Google methods of getting a shower when 100 miles from home at 8:00 in the morning.... Not ideal.It's a shame but might go back but not sure I trust the hot water system.Food was home cooked, cheap and fresh.
