Called in for lunch last Thursday 3rd Feb. I had fish and chips, lovely, right amount, very pleasant staff. Plus a lovely pint of Abbotts bitter. All at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended 👌

Visited the Horse and Groom 23/2/22 for a family get-together. James was very welcoming, there was a great choice of food and we all enjoyed our delicious meals. The service was great and everything clean and tidy. Highly recommend!

Great food but I'm gluten free and the staff aren't allowed to tell you if the food contains gluten or other allergens. You have to do your own research on the internet while the others order from the menu. Good as the staff were, how can i give any stars if i can't get on the internet or see to go through online menus and see if the food will make me ill, which we couldn't. Head office have condemned them to one star. If you can eat anything or want to decide what you want to eat before you attend, the food was excellent.

Had a very nice meal in the function room upstairs. Pub was busy but we were looked after all and the food was very nice. A great pub for a few drinks or a great meal.

Nice place and food, but the experience was spoiled due to Greene King's company policy on providing information on gluten free options turned a pleasant meal out into an ordeal so I doubt we will be visiting a Greene King pub again anytime soon.My reply to the response from the ownersthank you for your response, but I don't need an apology, I just wanted you to know that it's not a great experience for people with food allergies when they are told that the staff cannot tell them what is gluten free. Government guidelines say that you need to provide this information, which I know that you do through the app etc, but they do not say that the staff cannot tell you what is contained within your app. We were not offered a paper copy, so we did not know this was an option. As we said at the time, this was an impulse visit as the place looked so inviting, so we didn't know about the app. When we requested a gluten free menu we were told we had to download this but we had no signal to do so in the pub, the waitress did help us out with your tablet after telling us she could not tell us if the piri chicken contained wheat, which is all we wanted to know. Our meals were nice, but then when asked if we wanted desserts the thought of going through all the fuss of the app was too much for us.I wanted to give feedback because you said this was Greene King policy and as a customer I wanted you to be in a position to feed this negative customer experience back to the policy makers. When looking at your company values our experience did not fit with any of them.Customer first - we were told you were not allowed to tell us anything, not very customer centric.We care, well no you didn't seem to care at all, only to defend company policy.Freedom to succeed - we are trusted to unleash our potential by thinking differently and doing the right thing - well we tried to tell you what the right thing was for us - just tell us if the piri piri chicken has flour in it! but to no avail.We take ownership - this is where you had a great opportunity to make me as a customer feel that you had listened to me and told me that you heard my concerns and would feed them back to Greene King, but you didn't, you made me feel that it was too much effort to provide an answer to a simple question.On your last value win learn celebrate together, let's see if this applies and you do take the opportunity to learn from how a customer feels as a recipient of the company policy.

The food yet again was lovely, not had the Katsu chicken before and really enjoyed it.There were 7 of us dining and had been told that they were running on a small team and there was only 1 cook.. Well they did really well, it was a little wait but worth it. The food was great for everyone and we had time to catch up too.The team were working really hard in difficult circumstances. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you all.

Excellant dinning experience.. Went here on a Saturday evening, we had to book in advanced for a table. The menu gives plenty of choice, and the Christmas menu is currently available. Excellant priced menu good value for money. Our meals we're really tasty and were good portion sized. The staff seem friendly, and came to check that our meals were OK and to see if we wanted more drinks. There's plenty of room inside and outside of the Horse and Groom for sitting and having a drink/meal.. the outside seating area has heaters for cold nights. Play area available for the children. Well lighted Car park situated at the back, lots of space. Disabled parking, and access to the pub.We,ll definitely eat here again and would definitely recommend to others

Excellent friendly staff lovely atmosphere , the menu is fantastic so much I like I was definitely spoilt for choice that's why I need to go back and have them all . The seabass fillets was cooked to perfection the scallops and prawns were perfect to , all on a creamy risotto which I thoroughly enjoyed first time I've had risotto , my friend had the lovely beef pie and said best he'd had eating out it was full of meat which you don't normally get , he ate his plate clean so that said it all . We both had a dessert too which we wasn't disappointed with either , the prices were excellent as well so we will definitely be back . I've got to have the mussels in cream wine & garlic sauce with sour dough & fries . 😊

Great service, friendly staff. Steak wasn't great quality but cooked perfectly, chips were disappointing ( looked and tasted like cheap oven chips) Mac and cheese was absolutely amazing. Pudding was lovely. Definitely visit again
