Went here last night for my husbands birthday. What can I say everything was absolutely amazing. Food was so nice and tasty and I’m not a fan off curry’s but wow. I had boti lamb and I was so impressed. We will definalty be going back. And the woman serving was fantastic she went above and beyond. Nothing was to much trouble and she was only one serving she was a credit to the restaurant. We had starters and my daughter didn’t like anything, she brought my daughter a plate of chips so she didn’t feel left out. Such a lovely woman and great banter.

My good lady and I love this little place and are now pretty-well regulars there! The service is always good (quiet on a Tuesday night) and the food is exceptional. The Thali dishes are *very* plentiful and we always end up taking some home. Prices are very reasonable despite a recent (slight) increase and we have always felt very well fed for the dollar! The poppadoms and naan are always freshly made and the curries taste wonderful.I can't comment on takeaways, but based on our eating in experience, they are bound to be brilliant. To summarise: delicious food - always, well priced, great service! Just go and enjoy.

Shocking! Bar staff ignorant and rude to waitresses really not acceptable, starter was good curry little hotter than I wanted but nice friends curry chicken had bone in chunks luckily this was refunded but only after a phone call to owner, not be going back in hurry!

Not happy for at allPortions are only half the size of the tube, one potion of chips is not even small person's handful, the hot dish's are no why near hot, the chicken Tikka masala tasted bland with no flavour, tomato nan is just a plain nan with tomatoes out on top! not to mention it arriving cold and 45mins late!

Been coming here for years although I admit since the pandemic started we hadn’t been. After reading some negative reviews, thought I’d try it again to see if they were right. I can honestly say that the meal I had on Friday night was as good as it ever has been. The food was piping hot, full of spice and taste and loads of chunks of meat (chicken Bangalore dish) etc. The complimentary poppadoms and sauces were nice (especially the lime pickle) and everything was served in a very reasonable time. The waiter came to check if we needed any fresh drinks or anything else a number of times during the evening. Can’t fault Simla.

I've been going to Simla for a good 10 years. Never disappoints, and always worth the trip as I don't live close by! Food is exceptional, and the staff are brilliant too.

Spent over £60 on take away last night so so oily, hardly edible. Very poor standard of food, the only good thing was it arrived on time.

very disappointing. My partner ordered off Uber eats delivery was on time and driver was polite. unfortunately that's where is ends.mixed kebab starter was v.greasy, pakora was ok but luke warm, popadoms were chewy as if they were old.my lamb was chewy, her sauce was watery and had v.little taste, not like any other makhani she's had.salad was old and browning.but the rice....that was truly disgusting, soggy, full of starch and smelled like old feet!!everything photoed was thrown away. you should be ashamed to send food out like this.

Had to dive out of the way of their delivery driver in a grey BMW, reg G5 UMR driving like an absolute clown. Noticed it speeding through Kimberley on more than one occasion! The local ginger cat who lives on James Street nearly lost one of its 9 as well. As per usual when you walk past the place the stench of cannabis followed, delivering more than curries with a brand new BMW M5 I suspect? No respect for the community who buy their food, not a good advert.EDIT: I see there are more than just myself who have had cause to complain about this delivery driver. Not good.EDIT 2: Restaurant requested a review of the food. It’s absolutely vile. Gristly chicken, greasy horrible sauce and always cold. Don’t use them anymore.

Three of us had a superb vegetarian selection of 5 different dishes. We have ate in lots of curry houses and this by a long chalk was the best vegetarian Indian food we have tasted. Service excellent. Will definitely be back.
