Went for the comedy night. (1st wed of each month) and was very surprised at how good it was. The food was beautiful and the range of beers was excellent. The decor is great and this is an amazing pub.

I have visited this place a number of times recently, every time the beer has been of excellent quality and the prices are comparable to other real ale outlets in the town. The staff are always friendly and the place feels welcoming. I have not eaten here yet but the menu has a varied and interesting selection, I know that the Sunday lunch is popular and friends who have had it spoke very highly of it.

Really nice now its been revamped. Friendly staff, seemed like a nice friendly bunch of customers. Good range of drinks. Covered outdoor seating/smoking area, small car park, plenty of seating inside. Went on a Thursday night when they had a quiz on. Dogs are welcome inside too. All in all, very impressed and will be back.

Good food, good beer, good service. The meat portion for the Sunday roast might be too little for a bigger eater.

Decent, if small, selection of ales. The quality was great, the bar staff were pleasant and welcoming. I liked the outdoor area. Nothing to fault, will visit again.

Sorry to give such a poor review. On the plus side it has a nice atmosphere and does have a good range of beers. Staff were also very good and apologetic about the wait for our food. However, the food was disappointing. My son had a burger which he did enjoy, but our ‘tapas’ was not good. Belly of pork and the glazed pigs in blankets were really poor. Sticky chicken was ok. Maybe down to the fact that they had a big event on upstairs…

Love The Commercial since the refurbishment and new management changed it back to a pub. It's range of beers is excellent and the food is really good. If you're local and haven't been in since the refurb, make it a priority!
