Charlies Fish Bar in Charnwood

The haddock is hit and miss. every piece my husband has is lovely with lovely big chunks of white fish mine is always grey and firm. I couldn’t finish it tonight despite being really hungry.The chips are ok but sometimes the potatoes are not good and have a lot of black bits.The website is frustrating to use I have clicked on home delivery but when the order goes through it is click and collect. I’ve had this happen twice but the staff didn’t seem all that bothered when I told them.Looking for a new chippy if anyone can recommend one.

Paid 4.50 for a "mini fish"and it's the size of a fish finger it was so small has anyone noticed that the fish is "fishy"fish shouldn't be if it's fresh, lovely chips as always......

Food here is always of a consistent quality. 😋 I had a small Cod and chips to take out, delicious as always. You can eat in or take away. Parking both at the front of the shop and a large car park to the rear. Staff are always pleasant and quick to serve you.

Great fish & chips, the small meal deal includes sauce of your choice. Generous portion, freshly cooked. Nicest I've had for a little while. Friendly staff, clean modern interior. Thank you I really enjoyed my evening meal.

If you are going to offer a click and collect service at least get the items correct! I’ve ordered tonight and received very few chips compared to previous orders, missing items, incorrect sauces added to one kebab (ruining it) and no sauce on another when it was clearly requested on the order.I used click and collect expecting to avoid queues. When I arrived on time the shop was empty and my order hadn’t been prepared. If you can’t offer a quality service I’ll consider going elsewhere in future.

Been going to this chippy since we moved to Shepshed 2 years ago and it is definitely the best chippy going! We tried the new one in Shepshed once and won't ever go there again. Charnwood is 100% the best. Last night they delivered which made the experience even better it was very hot and fresh and the young man that delivered it was extremely friendly and polite he's a credit to your company! Thank you Charnwood. We will continue to support you for many many years

Mediocre at best. They usually have about 11 staff all pretending to be doing something, and usually a work experience kid trying to work the till while he squashes your chips into the paper. They change the prices what seems like on a weekly basis, and the only edible items from that digital menu is the fish and chips.The whole place has an identity crises as it is called Charnwood Fish Bar based in central Shepshed. The staff are always keen to get you gone and do not partake in any small talk, little wonder considering the state of some of the customers, especially the ones who order kebab...

Outstanding cuisine. All the staff are welcoming and attentive. The young gentlemen in the back is perhaps the most hard working man I have ever seen. Truly remarkable service.

A legendary local, family run fish and chips shop. A true chippy that bears all the hallmarks of a long-running family business that knows what it’s doing. 💛 Myself and my family are regular customers here. The fish is always cooked to perfection. The hand cut chips are the best around and always come in as a satisfyingly generous portion. Have munched my way around their menu over time and never been disappointed VERY large cod, chips and MUSHY PEAS are a culinary experience, an initiation to fish and chips, an epicurean landmark.
