Gino's Pear Tree Bar & Restaurant in Charnwood

Really great food and service. A beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff. High quality seafood with amazing flavours. A few improvements though: all the sides were highly over salted, most of the food arrived cold (cold plates), more vegan options would be appreciated, quite expensive (although that's to be expected for the quality of food and location).

Exceptionally long wait for the food but still put a £5 plus service charge on the bill. No prices on the menu, that's because they are extortionate. Food was nice but I wouldn't say it was anything special and the portions, are miserly. Overall a very disappointing evening. Came out feeling like I still needed to eat. Don't think I will recommend, unless I find some super rich friends, and will not go there again. Needs to be more affordable for all,, particularly in the times we are currently experiencing. Despite there being lot's of staff milling around, hence probably why the prices are so high, the service wasn't great.

Food is gorgeous. A great place for a special occasion

The food was incredible & they also have a large outdoor eating area with heat lamps & glass surrounds which will be lovely in the nicer weather. The staff were impeccable, polite & knew their stuff. My only criticism is as I'm in a wheelchair, there is only 2 accessible tables opposite the bar, the other tables are up some steps & down some steps & there is no disabled toilet. It won't stop us from going back, it'll just take a bit more planning. The food speaks for itself, absolutely stunning, well worth a visit & I'll guarantee you'll go back!

The pizzas are amazing! Such lovely soft/thin/crispy dough…all the right things! We took our 10 month old twins and they ate A LOT of pizza! The team are friendly and helpful too.

It's always great here, the Pear tree is a regular for us! This time, 11 of us we went for a boxing day set menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal, all of the finest quality and very festive.

The service is good. Food is good if you eat meat. However I'm vegetarian and the food was awful. The goats cheese starter was disgusting- had a bite and left it. Pizza is average. The desert was very good. Pear and sticky toffee pudding was very nice. I did let the staff know about the starter she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. They should offer more variety for veggie and vegans. Very disappointing 😞 . The place is nice and cosy.

Food was excellent.Service was also excellent.Felt the menu was misleading. Prices were for either 2 or 3 courses so felt obliged to have a starter or pudding which I normally wouldn't have and didn't need after the amazing pizza. When we received the bill however all the food was itemized individually which makes me wonder if I could just have had a main meal. Definitely worth asking.Also rather hefty (optional) service charge added.

Absolutely fantastic meal here out on the terrace (covered and with heaters). Prawns for starter were juicy and the whipped burrata was so delicate. Pizza for main was excellent with pops of black pepper, and butternut squash and beetroot ravioli were heavenly. Puddings also great. Service was top notch and the whole experience was still relaxed despite the high end food. Throughly recommended!

The pizza annexe is the perfect party place. We couldn't decide which Pizzas to order so they recommended a combination in a foot long pizza! There were 20 of us so we ordered 2. What a brilliant idea. They were delicious 😋
