Mr Chans Restaurant in Charnwood

The food quality is poor. Very oily food and the shrimp wasn’t fresh.

Went last night for the buffet. Was really lovely food and great staff will definitely visit agian.

A beautiful restaurant, beautiful decor, nice atmosphere, and the food, is in my opinion, the best & absolutely stunning. Friendly staff.This is our all time favourite restaurant, and has been for years. Love it.

Food was quite good and fast service, inside is a big restaurant, but could do with a refitting.

Came to the restaurant ordered and recevied drinks. Whilst in the middle of ordering our food the older waitress came and said something in what I'm assuming was Chinese and the young waitreess taking outlr order walked off. We then had to repeat the order to her. My partner always adds garlic and onions to her rice and I add chilli's and cashew nuts(if they have cashew as not all restaurants stock).On our request she outright said NO, we asked if they could be added and again she said no. I asked why she could offer other dishes with chilli's but not add them to my rice and she agun just said NO.Very rude service, we did not try the food so I can't comment on that. Poor service, rude waitress and very dull and dated environment?

Two stars given as food quality wasn't awful. No baby changing facilities and when staff were questioned as to what alternative there was the suggestion was to change the baby on the toilet floor. Understaffed and though they clearly tried to compensate by working harder they just needed more help. Won't be going again, if I lived close I might order a takeaway from them but I wouldn't expect it to turn up warm or on time.

Really nice food, but people were wearing coat's was the heating wasn't good enough. Really could do the a major revamp. Food was good

Update: It is of great surprise to me that Mr Chen's replied to my comment in such a negative way. The food was simply bland, lacking flavour and oily. I never requested for extra chicken in my meal and definitely not for free (maybe your confusing costumers or just clearly lying...) This simply shows me the unprofessionalism. Yes, I order Beef Chow Mein but that doesn't mean I want to eat bland, ill seasoned food. Usually when I order this dish from a Chinese restaurant it is a accompanied with onions or peppers ... SOMETHING! The truth is the dish was bad, I didn't finish it. Instead of spending your time replying sarcastically why don't you try improving the dish. Just saying ...Ordered Beef Chow Mein, it was oily, and lacked flavour. The beef was coated in a slightly slimy substance and very chewy. Had to collect it from the shop which was decorated with old fashioned decor, smelled a little funny and a bit dusty. Wont be ordering again.

We visited tonight and had the buffet which was very nice, it would have been nice to have a more varied selection of food, and had to ask for a few items that had run out
