As a small business owner myself, I am always reticent to leave negative comments about another small business, but I'm afraid I have to in this case. Every single time we have been to Oakley Grange over the years the service has been appallingly slow. Today (a quiet Monday afternoon at 2.30pm), we collected a menu and were told our order would be taken at the table "shortly". After more than ten minutes waiting (there were about three other tables occupied and two had their food already) - during which a takeaway customer arrived, was served and then left - I went back to the counter to order. I said I had been waiting over ten minutes and the reaction was one of total ambivalence. There was an apology when our order finally arrived, but I'd rather they sorted their service speed out than apologise!

Sadly will never visit again. After putting so much salt on my chips that I couldn't eat them, one lady was in the process of knocking some money off and then someone came out and said nothing to be taken off. It wasn't like I wasn't going to pay for the tepid burger or the stale bun because I had waited 40 minutes for it.....

Great Coffee, great currant tea cake and home made jam. Wonderful, slightly stressed, staff. I will be back soon.

Food was nice but way too expensive for breakfasts. Pretty building and lovely waitress though!

Lovely cafe for a quick stop for a light lunch on our long journey. Delicious homemade soup and beef and pork sausage sandwich. Dogs welcome on the outdoor seating area.

A real hidden gem situated on a working organic farm in the stunning Leicestershire countryside. The cafe is on the top floor of an old renovated farm building with a deli downstairs selling local crafts, organic food and gifts. The service is swift and friendly, worth booking ahead to guarantee a seat. The food is super yummy, fresh and filling and the cake and got chocolate is to drool for 😎.

My friend and I made a 25 mile round trip to purchase some gift vouchers for a Christmas present for my Dad. We decided to stay and have a hot chocolate and cake while we were there. There appeared to be only one waitress working upstairs and she was clearly rushed off her feet. We waited over 45 mins to be served, the hot chocolate was cold and one of the cakes was dry. I apologised to the waitress as I could see she was busy - She told me to speak to the manager downstairs which I did. At this point I was still considering buying the vouchers as I was gong to ask if this was an unusual waiting time, wondering if they were short staffed for some reason. I was horrified at the tone in which manager spoke to me. All she kept saying was that they were busy, no apology. It appeared she did not believe me and stormed off upstairs to the table we were sat at. She came back down armed with the drinks and cake and admitted the drinks were cold, again no apology, But insisted the cake was made that day. I ended up paying for both cakes which were quite expensive for what they were. My friend was also queuing up to purchase a £35 lantern and sign he had seen in the shop. Due to her awful attitude he put these back as he too was appalled at the way we were spoken to. Due to this awful experience we will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. If we had been spoken to and treated differently I would have purchased the £40 vouchers I had originally gone for and my friend would have purchased the lantern and metal sign he had seen and fallen in love with. This was a valuable lesson learnt - always try before you buy! We chose somewhere else to try, we ended up buying delicious, reasonably priced cakes and pies from their farm shop to take home and of course the vouchers which I am sure my dad will enjoying spending and enjoying in a nice, friendly and welcoming environmentI never write reviews but I felt so strongly about the way we were treated that I felt I needed to write this review in the hope that no-one else gets treated this way

Set in an visually stunning location, looking over the rolling English countryside and maintained cottage style garden, you will find a relax setting to enjoy a coffee and cake. I had the carrot cake, which was moist and tasty- the frosting was spot on.The hot drink prices are excellent value for money. Generally, the main courses/sandwiches are over priced. Having said this, the food is organic and of a high quality. The sandwich feelings looked amazing! The service didn't really live up to expectations. The waiter was slow, the tables were not cleared away and he forgot to bring us the water that we had ordered. However, it was an exceptionally hot day and he did apologise for the service. There is a small play area for children, to help keep them entertained. There is a rather expensive farm shop to look around too. Overall, I would going back again and recommend a visit.

Service is very slow. Nice surroundings. We did not enjoy our pot of tea! The food was very good, great quality and well presented. Lots of lovely gifts available to buy plus local produce.
