Rose & Crown in Charnwood

Had lunch at the Rose and Crown Inn with two ex work friends. The canal-side setting was lovely. Hot sunshine and a cool breeze across the water. The drinks were good, the food delicious, and the bar staff were friendly and efficient. A very pleasant, well decorated and comfortable country pub, with plenty of parking space. Highly recommended.

My family and I did a bit of a walk along the river and crossed over to get some drinks at The Rose and Crown. The staff are nice but the quality of drink and the ambiance leave a lot to be desired. I had an Old Mout Cider that was on tap and it had a sulfer (rotten egg) like undertone to it. I could only take three drinks before I gave up on it. I enjoy older pubs and actually prefer them to the renovated modern ones every has done over covid but it's less old man pub and alot more general dingy unfortunately.

The place has good reviews so we thought we'd stop. Not a good idea. No hot food or even cold food. Shot staffed and looking for a publican. Oh well, maybe ext time.

Nice canal side pub. Good food, Good beer.You can sit outside by the canal if you wish.However even inside you can still view it.

We called in for a drink and snack. Unfortunately we were 2 minutes late to get anything from the kitchen so had to make do with just a drink. It was nice enough fo a pub and seemed clean. Shame I cannot make any comments about the food.

Great friendly service, food is very good, beautiful place to sit outside and relax watching the wildlife and barges on the canal.

We found this lovely place on an app called pubwalks. We parked up and went on the couple mile circular walking trail nearby, then stopped off at the Rose and Crown beer garden for a beer before heading home. The staff inside were lovely, friendly and helpful. The prices were good, toilets more than satisfactory. The beer garden is lovely, overlooking the canal and fields. Recommended stop!

Stopped in for something to eat and was extremely pleased with the food and service.Greatly priced for the food that we had and staff were great - couldn’t do enough for you.Will definitely be returning at a later date.

Possibly the friendliest pub everWe hadn’t planned on calling in at a pub but after a lovely walk we stopped on chance. We didn’t have masks but the staff kindly provided us with one each so that we could order and use indoor facilities if needed.We enjoyed our drinks sitting by the side of the river watching the world go by. Staff were lovely and attentive, provided water and treats for our puppy.Beer was also good - shame we were just passing through as the food also looked great

Nice location by the canal with a good beer garden and a choice of asked. Lovely staff, easy sign in and a handy sanitising station. Deanna and boats going past - lovely.
