Spice Lounge in Charnwood

I read through the reviews below and it appears this is a standard theme. First time we used this place it was fantastic, we tried again last night for delivery and the food was terrible. The dishes were watery and the chicken really tough. Quite clearly on certain days, or before peak delivery times they use frozen pre-made food. It definitely wasn’t freshly cooked. Real shame as with the other major Indian in Shepshed closing they could clean up with a better quality.

A dinner for two turned out a total disaster.Food pre-ordered at 4:30 pm and despite a guaranteed delivery time of 6:30, they came to our door at 7:00 pm.Food was overcooked, overpriced and bland with abysmal portions. Chicken Matras were not spicy at all and the garlic mushroom was a joke (please watch out!) They were also unsurprisingly lukewarm at best and not hot.Shame that Out of India closed down but if the nearly £35 for two dinner was much worse than microwavable M&S curry, it is the last time we will order from you.Have to give one star cos I cannot rate a ZERO!!!

Ordered from here for the first time tonight and was very happy. Had lamb naga, arrived on time and still hot. Was very surprised at how tasty/spicy it was but wasn’t disappointed. Think it will be a new regular takeaway

Thought I would give it a go as I have been disappointed with others in the area. Such a nice surprise, I had a lamb saag and all I can say was it was fresh tasty and overall a fantastic dish, I will definitely be trying again and maybe I have found my go to curry house 😁UPDDATE:I ordered a lamb chop bhuna last night 28/04/2022 while watching the football and it was epic, large meaty chops in an amazingly thick tasty sauce absolutely banging, I have been using spice lounge now for a few years and not once have I had a bad dish 10/10

Really lovely, tasty food and friendly staff. I've only taken a star off because it took a long time to get our food. The staff did come and tell us it will be another 5-10 minutes, but it was longer than that. However, it didn't take away from our night, which was lovely and I'll certainly return!

Always a wonderful experience. Fresh, tasty and well presented delicious dishes. Eating in is just as great as takeaway and collection.

Recommended by my brother. Advised of an hours wait for delivery which was planned into the evening. Called to enquire as to a delay and told it was en route. Called 20 minutes later and told it was just leaving the kitchen. They did call back and say they were going to deliver it for free but by then we were starving and needed food from elsewhere. They just need to be honest about what they can deliver rather than blagging it. I won’t be using again.

Amazing restaurant and staff, take your own booze, the best around

Absolutely fantastic: the best in the area. All dishes are uniquely flavoured, meat/chicken/prawns great quality and plenty, side dishes equally tasty , even samosa was the best we have tried. Thank you, will always prefer from this place from now on.
