The Red Lion in Charnwood

Great beers, lovely blonde barmaid "4pm shift" with glasses, had the pub red lion t-shirt on. Fire was on, not sure if it was needed.

We visited this lovely little pub last night on the off chance and it turned out to be a perfect evening, the food was gorgeous and plenty of it, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, even sky the dog with the bow tie was a joy to be around, thank you to the guy at the bar who recommended breakfast too! If we are ever up from margate again we will be sure to return.

Family if 10 went out for Sunday Roast. Was delicious. Great portions, very fresh. We all thoroughly enjoyed it 😋

What a beautiful pub the atmosphere is brilliant the staff are friendly and professional very good food and free parking this place is well worth a visit

Tldr: great service, great beer, great space, sometimes too many young humans (not students, for a change!). Give it a whirl!This pub has been my nearest pub for the past 3 years and I haven't had chance to give it the love it deserves. Always quick service, a great selection of real ales and I've never felt that it's 'a local pub for local people', if you get me?They've recently had an outside area built which is fantastic, but on a number of occasions its felt a little like a creche as its (understandably) a good area for the kids to have a little more space. I get that, but if you want to enjoy your Dashingly Dark in peace sometimes inside is the only option, which is fine!Pretty sure it has a real fire too, which is a bonus when it's cold! Though that could have been a really boring dream, so don't quote me on it..

Great little pub, felt proper old school. Burgers were excellent and genuinely good value for money. Good selection of ales. If I lived locally I'd be a regular.

Fantastic Sunday Roast… the beers are always brilliant!

We always receive a genuine warm welcome at The Red Lion. A huge selection of drinks, and speciality beers at great prices.Having just experienced a superb, and tasty Sunday lunch, with huge portions from a well thought out menu, we can't wait to go back.Thank you to all the staff at The Red too.

We were visiting the area & popped in to try the Wednesday Special: Pizzas. Were very nice & especially enjoyed their timber outdoor space.
