The Star Inn 1744 Restaurant in Charnwood

Friendly, welcoming pub. They looked after our booking of 20 extremely well, were very attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. The food was hearty and delicious, I think everyone cleared their plates! Would highly recommend and we will be back soon for another family gathering. Thank you for being so patient when we were sorting out the bill!!

We stayed in this hotel for a 40th anniversary. I had never been to Thrussington before despite living near Leicester. The hotel team were really friendly and had customer service of the highest order. We also booked dinner for the evening which we were told would have to be in the bar as restaurant was full which was OK by us but great to be given the advance warning. We were shown to our room which despite the age of the building it was decorated and equipped to a really high standard. The room was really warm and cosy just like home from home we could not fault it at all. When we went down to the pub for our evening meal the lady behind the bar who had informed us of being in the bar for dinner had upgraded us to the restaurant as she had received a cancellation. Again great customer service.The food in the restaurant was also a really high standard. The meals were cooked quickly and prepared fresh and were excellent quality.The decor in the pub was excellent and again of a really high standard. The service at the bar and waiting tables was also top notch.This is the first time visiting this restaurant and hotel and certainly won't be our last. Breakfast service was also very good and of a really high standard and was also included in the room price.The manager was very friendly and has a very good handle on the team and what the business needs to make it a success and should be praised for having such a high class operation.We will be back and highly recommend this business.

My husband and I went for Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We ordered the traditional Sunday roast which was excellent. Opted for the pork with all the trimmings. Done to perfection. Again desserts amazing. With drinks very reasonable prices. Looking forward to next time. Thank you.

Visited as part of a table of a 20 on a Saturday night. Excellent food all round, it isn't cheap but you certainly get what you pay for. Service was friendly and quick considering our party size. I would definitely recommend!

Not having had Sunday lunch out for some time we booked a table at short notice at The Star Inn, Thrussington.Lovely relaxing atmosphere & decor.My husband was pleased to see his favourite beer on draught & we both ordered the roast of the day which was pork. So pleased that we did! The pork was absolutely delicious & just melted in the mouth. With generous portions of veg, Yorkshire & roasties in all a gorgeous plate of food. Likewise, so too were the desserts.Thanks Aimee & Olivia for the excellent service.Definitely a return visit in the future.

Lovely room and spotlessly clean. Best full English breakfast I've had in a long time. Quality produce and very well cooked. Staff were very helpful and friendly and will definitely make a return visit

I went to this little gem today for Sunday lunch with my family. Staff couldn't be more helpful and polite. The food was absolutely stunning, we all came out with very full bellies and big smiles on our faces. I fully recommend 👌

What a lovely old pub / restaurant set in an amazingrurallocation. The only small complaint I have is the menu was really small and didn't have much choice. Other than that it was beautifully decorated and clean and the food was amazing. Real ale was to match! Great night out here.

The business stated previously that they had problems staffing the kitchen so we went bearing that in mind however, I assume that everything is now sorted as we were certainly impressed.A lot of thought has gone in to the details and upkeep of this public house. A choice of 3 cask ales and I had one of the best pints I have had in a long time. The food was not on the cheap side but then neither were the portions or the quality. Very tasty and we'll presented. The young serving staff were very polite, efficient and helpful, a credit to the pub. If I was hypercritical the latte seemed to have a hint of chocolate flavour which was not to my taste and the cup of tea was lovely but a larger teapot would have been appreciated. We will certainly return if we are in the area again.

So lovely. Really pleased with our room. Super king bed, nice and comfy. Pillows were great. Shower was insanely powerful, so apologies for the soaked bathroom! Food in the pub was nice, attached a picture of the full English. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you!
