Nona's in Chesterfield

Decided to go here for my anniversary meal with my partner but was left a little disspointed. It took someone 20 minutes to come over for our drinks order even though there was 4 members of staff stood by the till. However, once we ordered our food, the service was quite quick. I had the hake which was really nice however, my partner had the seafood tagliatelle and there was basically nothing on the plate. The portion was tiny, especially for the price. The house chips were also soggy and tasted like nothing. We then ordered our desserts and waited over 20 minutes for them to be left dissapointed. The tiramisu was tiny and the pana cotta tasted of nothing. Don't think I'll be revisiting any time soon

Lovely meal, food good, atmosphere good, lovely surroundings but staff didn’t really bother with us and never asked if we wanted dessert! Had to leave the table to find someone and ask for the bill.

Modern Italian restaurant, clean, stylish interior, with a bar area upstairs for drinks and music.Visited early on a Saturday evening for two courses. Starter olives were fresh, tasty and plentiful, with a large portion of ham hock terrine smothered in gorgeous cranberries.Oddly enough for an Italian restaurant they didn't have Italian beers, just Spanish and German.Main course arrived, albeit a less than large portion, but it was still, delicious! Butternut squash and goats cheese stuffed tortellini with the goats cheese whipped, then topped with walnuts. Other main course being duck salad; although really, the duck would have been bettered by being warm and sliced. Perhaps a sharper knife might have gone through it better.The duck was cooked perfect and plentiful, just would have been better, warm.Really tasty food and top quality ingredients.The menu was short on selection, I felt. Whereas other Italian restaurants spoil you with choices and make your mouth water reading the selections, this menu was very 'to the point' offering about 20 dishes in total from starters through to dessert. Some diners obviously don't need a big selection, and I will reiterate again.. the food we had was deliciousJust a note that we found it very presumptuos and a little annoying that a 10% service charge was added to the bill without first asking. I don't leave tips, so to be forced to leave another £5 took the shine off this experience. The service was good, but I'll judge whether I leave extra for it, not the restaurant!

I love this place, a very welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. The food is amazing we even stayed for a few drinks after our meal to finish of a amazing night. The idea of moving to the first floor the drinks is wonderful so you really get the best of both. Somewhere nice and chilled to eat then move to the bar to for a drink with music. Would highly recommend

Such a shame that this place isn't what it used to be.*sent two emails to book, no reply...*the place is in need of good clean, don't look at the ceilings.*service, good and bad but had to do alot of asking.*food - 4star, bar an very undercooked steak which they did re-do.*sticky tables, again needs a good clean and an manager on sitewouldn't return

Food was superb, would highly recommend. Pasta and pizza all tasted like they had been made fresh onsite.Was very busy so would recommend booking. The atmosphere inside was great. We had a really good evening.Lots of choices for Veggies.

Lovely classy decor and appreciate establishments like this as part of the gentrification of Chesterfield. Service was excellent, attentive and made our birthday party feel welcomed. Food - can't say for the other dishes but the my squid ink spaghetti, although tasty, for the price really should have added proper prawns and not just shrimp, tad stingy on the panchetta and could be a little more generous on the portion size.

Menu choice:This had a very refined menu that reflected in the quality of the food that came out from the kitchen. Serving a table of 14 at the same time with no issue.Thete was a vegetarian option although the one produced on the night was somewhat burnt on the bottom and was slightly blend in flavour.Service Please:Upon arrival the service was a little delayed but this was a christmas menu and can be expected. There is a bar available which is upstairs for you to get a drink while you wait.The staff was very accommodating and for the most part it felt welcoming. Some staff seemed stressed and less happy with delivering a good service.Affordability:Great quality for the price but in terms of Affordability it depends on your budget. This is not a mcdonalds menu; however, I found this was only slightly above a chain pub menu price but the quality was much better.Accessibility:Easy access from the ground floor but toilets are upstairs on the second floor. The bar is also on the second floor while the table Service is downstairs but you can order drinks from the dining table. Just beware that if you do require assisted mobility this could be a problem for you.Extended family (pets): No pets unfortunately but this is more a bistro, so take a night off and get the pet sitter in, and relax and enjoy yourself.Conclusion:Great menu choice and for the best part the food was delicious and well worth the price tag. The service was really good with only the odd member of staff seeming to be less than enthusiastic. Remember Accessibility might be an issue for those who are in assisted mobility. Loved the atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. This is going to be my new spot.The salmon was absolutely perfect
