Friendly staff and standard befitting four star rating. Had to ask for some things that would normally be presumed to be readily available in a four star! I await my breakfast and possibility of a fifth star, special mention of Carmen, Gemma & Leah who welcomed us on our late night arrival at approximately 10pm.Well just had breakfast, it was an early morning start. I had a full English, nice, went down a treat. I particularly liked the black pudding, and in this part of the world, you'd quite rightly expect a locally sourced delicious example of that essential part of an English breakfast! I wasn't disssapointed!I'm now looking forward to the day ahead. The very kind young lady in reception Clare suggested Stamford, within easy reach( time will tell!), the famous Melton Mowbray, famous for it's Pork Pie, Market Harborough and many more feature on this area. There is a fine resteraunt both breakfast and evening meal, had a great chicken Curry last night, and plenty of it too!Good stop off this, Holiday or business, be nice to come this way again, especially to visit Stamford, great gift shops, leather goods, and superb eateries.

We had such a lovely stay.. initially a 1 night stay.. a gift voucher from relatives... after a poor experience in London recently, we were enjoying the facilities and customer service here from the start. The reception and public areas are light, spacious and clean. When we entered the room we noticed 4 uht full fat milk on tray... we asked a member of staff cleaning the room opposite if we could swap to semi skimmed .. she didn't bat an eyelid and went to get us replacements. The room was large, airy and well equipped (including a proper nespresso coffee makingI machine and pods). After we checked in a large party of line dancers checked in for the weekend, we were advised to avoid 6.00-7 30 for dinner in restaurant, the restaurant usually opens at 6.30, but 7.30 is too late for us to eat for a number of reasons.. we explained these to Claire on reception who spoke to the Chef and we were so grateful he allowed us to to eat early at 5 30.. so for much of our meal we had the dining room to ourself .. the Chef himself came our to serve hubby's sticky toffee pudding and was very engaging and friendly.. when we thanked him for serving us early he said they will try to accommodate requests when asked. The food was delicious! During the evening we realised both that we needed an extra pillow each and that because we were enjoying stay so much we'd like to stay longer.. I spoke to Carmen on reception.. she bought extra pillows to our room and facilitated an extra night at a very reasonable rate, so we stayed an extra night! Breakfast is self service.. has a selection of hot foods.. bacon, sausage, fried eggs, mushrooms, beans, tomato, hash browns, fried bread, cereals, bread for toasting. With a range of jams and other toast toppings (separate gluten free choices and toaster) plus a variety of fruit and fruit juices. My only disappointment was there was not a continental choice of hams and cheeses or pastries, the only eggs were fried with no scrambled or poached options and there was only 'milk'.. with no varieties.. we prefer skimmed.. but can easy take semi-skimmed .. but it would be great if hotel could offer a range.. although.. if asked I'm sure they could cater for all needs and intolerances. Having said that we enjoyed breakfast and it set us up for long walks around Eyebrook reservoir, very close by and with stunning scenery! Nothing seemed too much trouble.. when we asked for anything it was delivered or sorted promptly with a smile.... it didn't seem like we were creating an issue at all. Would totally recommend this hotel and will stay again as we want to visit Rockingham Castle! Well done and thank you Rockingham Forest Hotel staff!

Lovely ambient contemporary foyer and reception. Ample parking. Room was well equipped with a large screen TV however it was an old model so we could not pair our phone to watch our Netflix. The nespresso maker was a welcome treat. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Overall good stay and I’d recommend it.

Was an OK hotel would have expected a bit more from a three star hotel... dirty windows indoors... food average.... service was good though friendly staff.

Stayed here for a week for work. Staff were kind and polite. My room was at the end of a hall I could hear everything didn’t get much sleep whilst here. The doors are extremely heavy so people bang the doors whilst leaving their rooms either late at night or early mornings. The food was pretty good not enough vegetarian options though. Appreciated the room being cleaned everyday and lovely bathroom. Other than that it wasn’t great for sleep, perhaps just my room.

Rooms are good but lack of staff to service a pre arranged weekend mass booking spoiled the experience. Queues for food and bars resulted in a lot of disgruntled drinkers.

Went to a wedding here and booked a room. Very reasonable price for a very nice room. Staff were nice and polite.Only downside was the humongous pot hole on the entrance to the car park which made me feel like I had driven into a large well. Luckily it didn't damage my car but I hope it's fixed soon.

Nice local hotel..... Stayed for one night after a wedding..... Room good..... Shower Ok fur once.... Outside could do with a bit of paint in places..... Breakfast great and hearty..... Issue with room not being available due to staff shortage but soon resolved..... Evening bar very busy and could do with more staff..... Pleasent stay - served its purpose...
