Met friends for lunch here today as a ‘half-way’ point between our home. We’ll definitely meet here again. The food was good. The vegetarian options for mains are limited but the falafel burger I had was nice. The waitress who served us was excellent. She smiled as soon as we came through the door & continued to make us feel welcome throughout our stay. She mentioned that they were short staffed due to illness, but from a customers point of view - we wouldn’t have had a clue.Great riverside location. The only let down is they don’t serve decaf coffee. But, otherwise it was an enjoyable experience.

Fantastic canal side pub. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. Table service was excellent. The food was outstanding and there are a great set of draught beers. Lovely atmosphere with some very good song selections. Dog friendly. Would definitely recommend you come here.

We have recently discovered this little pub & we love it! The pub is located right next to the canal & is perfect for watching the boats go past and making friends with dogs as it's dog friendly! The food is really delicious and fresh, would recommend the admiral Nelson burger & the fajitas! This pub is now our new favourite & definitely worth a visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal sitting outside watching narrow boats navigating the lock only a few yards away. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. I can recommend the blue cheeseburger. The dog enjoyed his stay too.

We had soup and a drink in the pub. It was really welcoming. Soup was really good and served nicely. Staff were nice.Bonus is it being dog friendly.Lovely for a walk along the six locks and to see the Braunston tunnel entrance.

Lovely meal, friendly staff and rest ambience. Enjoyed our meals

Food was mostly good; my friend had the pate and it was one of the best pates ever. My starter soup of the day had a bitter aftertaste. Main courses and service were fine. Some vegan options too, which was good to see. The Old Original Ruby Ale was excellent.

My husband and I came to visit friends and found ourselves at a loose end for an hour so we decided to find somewhere to eat.Not being from the area we chose to go somewhere we have previously had a drink with our friends and we weren’t disappointed. The sun was shining which was lovely to sit outside and watch the narrow boats going through the lock, the atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were lovely. We also decided to eat while we were there and we weren’t disappointed! The portion sizes were plentiful and the food looked and tasted fresh.Personally I had the Cajun chicken burger, and if I were to order again I would definitely ask for more spice, but that’s just a personal thing for me! The onion ring nest was delicious and had very crispy batter, and the coleslaw was also very yum!Definitely stop here for a drink or food if you are passing. It’s lovely to sit outside by the locks when it is warm enough, or inside is cosy and inviting.

It's s little jem of a place. Food is amazing. Service is great. Staff very friendly and attentive.Second visit and not disappointed as you sometimes are. Will be back.Portions are amazing. I ordered a side of chips with the fajitas. What a mistake. But ate them. The Mrs ordered the hunters chicken but has an allergy. The staff/chef went out of their way to accommodate.I love this place.
