Boat House in Daventry

Lovely day, a seat by the canal, food was good and a reasonable price.Service to the table was good too.So why 9 and not 10 for 'recommendation'?Sitting outside does not have the same service as inside, cannot set a tab for the table to pay at the end, so ordering for a group of individuals as well as up and down for drinks takes the edge off a relaxed lunch.

Visited on a Tuesday evening for dinner. Excellent Thai curry and vegetarian Lasagne ( goats cheese). On a sunny evening the ambience was outstanding. Great service, good food, excellent surroundings. What more does one want?

Very good welcome as we arrived, pleasant decor & atmosphere. Good selection of beers and lagers. Excellent varied menu. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian Thai curry as well as the yummy dessert. Thanks to all staff, particularly Annelie who was extremely attentive, cheerful and helpful. A very pleasant evening meal.

First time since 1974 it was called the fairy lights then. Had an absolutely awesome meal with wife and son. Cooked to perfection. The sides were a large portion and absolutely excellent value for money. The staff were excellent polite and willing. Thank you for an excellent evening

Nice, large Marstons pub located on the Canal. Always seems fairly busy. Had okay food and drink here when moored up. Dog friendly in the bar area.

Beautiful place! I had a mixed grill which was lovely apart from it was ever so slightly over cooked which made the meat a bit on the dry/tough side. Otherwise would have been a full 5 stars! Still a nice place to go nonetheless!

We dropped in for Sunday lunch, it was a lovely day and very busy but we got seated and didn't have to wait long for our carvery. I've got to say the food was delicious, the meat was tender and there was so much choice. My only problem is that there were kids running about, I know its a family pub, but I'm old fashioned and kids should be sat down inside or run about in the lovely child friendly garden! It won't stop us coming back as the food is so good and the staff are so friendly.

Relaxed lunchtime visit with excellent engagement from our server, Rachel.Food was tasty, good portions. Varied menu suited all of us from 8 to 80!Coffee was the only disappointment - tasted like it was from an instant machine?

Excellent evening meal.... Pre-booked but didn't seem to need to.... Fab food all round.... Excellent service from Eleanor who helped us when the Online order system didn't update... Table for 4 with a few drinks...£115
